        Justyn Ross returns

Chiefs WR Justyn Ross returned to practice Wednesday after leaving with a leg injury the day before. The second-year wideout is clearly good to go.

        Justyn Ross hurts leg

Chiefs WR Justyn Ross suffered a leg injury in Tuesday's practice. ESPN's Adam Teicher reports that HC Andy Reid didn't offer specifics afterward. We'll see how long the second-year wideout remains sidelined. He hasn't been worth consideration outside of the final rounds in a best ball draft anyway, though.

        Justyn Ross getting first-team work

The Athletic's Nate Taylor lists WR Justyn Ross as one of the "risers" from the first few days of Chiefs training camp. Ross has been getting first-team work with QB Patrick Mahomes. “He’s a bigger receiver, but when you watch him, he really excels at route running,” OC Matt Nagy said of Ross. “He’s learning his timing, for Pat to understand how he runs routes. It’s going to be immense growth for him, in a good way.” Ross missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury but had a buzzy spring. WR Kadarius Toney's knee injury opens up more opportunity for Ross to carve out an early-season role. We'll continue to keep a close eye on this wide-open Chiefs WR corps.

        Ross having healthy offseason

Chiefs WR Justyn Ross missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury. But he's had a healthy 2023 so far and has impressed at OTAs. “Justyn is coming along," HC Andy Reid said. "He feels good, his foot feels good (and) the surgery that he had worked out well up to this point. He’s made some nice plays for us out here. I know Pat (Mahomes) has trust in him, so that’s good to see." Mahomes said back in April that he was excited about the progress he'd seen from Ross, who went undrafted last year due to medical concerns but totaled 1,865 yards and 17 TDs over his first two seasons at Clemson. His progress -- and standing on the depth chart -- are definitely worth monitoring this summer.

        Mahomes hypes up Ross

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is excited by WR Justyn Ross' progress this offseason. “The talent is through the roof,” Mahomes said. “I think anyone can see that. He’s getting better and better. Even though he wasn’t active all year he was in the building and he was able to see the guys and how we do things. Listening and being in the meetings and some of the stuff like that. I’m excited for him, man. To be able to get out there and get the reps in practice, get the little fine details that we like to do in this offense.” Ross went undrafted last year due to medical concerns and then missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury. But he was awesome early in his Clemson career, racking up 1,865 yards and 17 TDs over his first 2 seasons. Ross is still a long shot for tangible fantasy value this season, but he's worth keeping an eye on if for no other reason than the offense he plays in. Ross is also worth stashing in deeper dynasty leagues.

Ross headed for PUP after foot surgery

Chiefs WR Justyn Ross had surgery recently to "correct" a previous operation he had on a foot that he initially injured back in November. "It's going to take time," HC Andy Reid said Friday, according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride. Expect the rookie to begin training camp on the PUP list. We're not betting on significant contributions from Ross this season. The undrafted rookie has some long-term upside but also comes with significant injury baggage. Just make sure you don't over-commit.

        Ross has foot injury

Chiefs WR Justyn Ross was spotted a couple of weeks ago with a walking boot on his left foot. We don't have any other details on the injury -- but it's worth noting that this is the same foot in which Ross suffered a stress fracture back in 2021. We'll see if the undrafted rookie opens training camp on the PUP list. He remains just a dynasty stash for now.

Ross cleared by only 4 teams

Clemson HC Dabo Swinney revealed that only 4 NFL teams medically cleared Chiefs WR Justyn Ross. Ross missed the entire 2020 season after undergoing surgery to address a bulging disc and congenital fusion condition in his neck and spine. He was eventually cleared to play at Clemson last year, but it's a reminder that he's a major injury risk moving forward. It's why he went undrafted -- before signing with Kansas City.
