Omarion Hampton Officially Returns

The Chargers on Monday activated RB Omarion Hampton from IR. That clears the way for him to play tonight against the Eagles. It would be his first action since a Week 5 ankle injury.

We'll obviously check for confirmation that Hampton is active when the teams announce inactives about 90 minutes before kickoff. But there wouldn't be much reason to activate Hampton from IR ahead of the game if he weren't going to play.

The rookie seemed on track to return in Week 13 but ultimately remained out.

We can't know, of course, exactly what his work share will look like after a nine-week absence. But Hampton should quickly overtake Kimani Vidal.

The Chargers also activated RB Hassan Haskins from IR today and released RB Jaret Patterson to clear roster space.
