The Commanders are signing RB Rachaad White to a one-year deal, according to multiple reports. We'll see about the money involved, but the length of the contract means Washington isn't making a major commitment. White has spent the last four seasons in Tampa Bay, averaging 664 rushing yards, 363 receiving yards, and 6.3 total TDs per season.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
White broke out in his second NFL season back in 2023, running for 990 yards and six TDs and racking up 64 catches for 549 yards and three more scores. He ranked 15th among RBs in PPR points per game that year.
White's numbers tailed off the last two seasons, though, as he ceded work to RB Bucky Irving. He finished RB22 in PPR points per game in 2024 and sunk to 50th this past year.
White has been a mediocre runner throughout his career, averaging 3.9 yards per carry. His 1.7 yards after contact per attempt ranks 60th among 69 RBs with 200+ carries over the last four seasons.
But White has been excellent in the passing game. His 205 catches, 1,450 receiving yards, and 11 receiving TDs are all top-six marks among RBs over the last four years.
As of now, White projects as a committee member alongside Jacory Croskey-Merritt in Washington's backfield.
But White likely doesn't preclude the Commanders from selecting Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love with the seventh overall pick of next month's draft.
White will be a risky pick in fantasy drafts until that risk is gone. If he dodges Love, he'll be a fine RB3 target with upside into RB2 range in PPR leagues.
