Rookie TE Justin Joly was a surprise cut by the Denver Broncos, but he was claimed by the Miami Dolphins today. Joly, a receiving-first TE, enters a pretty thin TE room consisting of Greg Dulcich and rookie Will Kacmarek. That should open up an opportunity for Joly to make the roster and potentially contribute if Dulcich misses time.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: No Redraft Appeal Yet
There isn’t much impact for this upcoming season. Joly should not be rostered in any redraft leagues.
But, he is worth keeping an eye on if Dulcich does miss time.
Joly, a former college WR, totaled 92-1,150-11 over two seasons with the Wolfpack. Among the 27 TEs invited to the NFL Combine, Joly ranked 14th in 2025 aDOT (7.6), 10th in team market share of receiving yards (18.6%), ninth in receiving yards per team pass attempt (1.38), and seventh in receiving yards per route run (1.78).
It is also worth noting the Dolphins added QB Brady Cook as their likely back-up to Malik Willis.
Dynasty Impact: Deep Stash With A Path
Joly’s receiving upside made him an intriguing dynasty add as a fifth-round pick, and Dulcich’s one-year contract gives him a path to future playing time.
Joly could compete for the lead pass-catching TE role (with Kacmarek blocking) if he can impress this season.
That's worth a deep dynasty stash or a taxi-squad spot.
