Jeremiyah Love Headshot

A source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo that Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love is "about 50/50" to play Week 1. "Nobody really knows right now," Garafolo added. "They need to see how he progresses over the next week plus."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Week 1 Looks Iffy

Cardinals HC Matt LaFleur gave a similar assessment on Monday, saying that Love is "progressing really well" but still uncertain for the opener.

The rookie will be 31 days removed from his high-ankle sprain when the Cardinals open against the Chargers, which puts him right in the usual recovery window. So the 50/50 outlook makes sense.

We'll need to keep a close eye on Love's practice participation next week. He's unlikely to get a full workload if he does play in the opener but could still be a RB2 or RB3 in fantasy lineups.

We still like Love anywhere in the back half of Round 3.

If Love sits Week 1, RB Tyler Allgeier would project for heavy volume and be a solid fantasy spot starter. With RB James Conner on short-term IR, Bam Knight is the only other RB on Arizona's active roster right now.
