Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten led the team in touches rushing 13 times for 65 yards and a TD. He also caught both of his targets for -3 yards. Chris Rodriguez handled short yardage duties, but only ran the ball 6 times for 13 yards. Ameer Abdullah also had 3 rushes for 11 yards, and a catch for 2 yards. Tuten once again looked like the best RB on the team with his explosiveness off the snap and ability to break a long play (he had a 16-yard outside scamper).

Tuten scored on a “Wildcat” goal line run, shuffling outside and cutting up the field to find a hole within the zone blocking.
Rodriguez was ineffective and unable to break the usual tackles that had been his calling card. Last year, Rodriguez’s 3.46 yards after contact per attempt ranked eighth in the league. He had trouble making any yards after contact this week.
That, combined with Tuten’s performance, could lead to more touches for Tuten going forward.
The Jaguars have tough run match-ups over the next few weeks, so we will see how Tuten and the rest of the RBs perform. They play against the Patriots in Week 3, followed by the Bengals and Eagles.
