Aaron Jones Headshot

Vikings RB Aaron Jones handled a workhorse rushing role with Jordan Mason sidelined, turning 23 carries into 105 yards. Jones also led the backfield with a 46% route rate, although he failed to draw a target on Carson Wentz’s 20 pass attempts.

What They're Saying

Jones briefly left in the fourth quarter with a knee injury, but he ultimately returned.

“Got a little banged up,” Jones said. “Put a brace on it and was able to finish it out.”

We'll keep an eye on Jones' practice participation ahead of Week 3.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Jones to Remain Useful in the Short Term

The Vikings had veteran DeeJay Dallas and rookie Demond Claiborne active behind Jones, but that duo combined for only 4 touches.

Jones' yards per carry looked strong at 4.6, but his advanced rushing metrics were underwhelming. He registered poor marks in yards after contact per attempt (1.74) and Pro Football Focus Elusive Rating (34.0), dragged down by only three missed tackles forced on 23 attempts.

It's worth noting that Sunday's game was played in wet, sloppy conditions. The Vikings didn't threaten the Bears downfield with Carson Wentz under center, leading to 8+ defenders in the box on 39.1% of Jones' rushes. Only seven RBs saw a higher rate, per Next Gen Stats.

Kyler Murray will have a chance to return for Week 3 after missing Sunday with a concussion. Regardless, Jones is positioned for RB2-level value in the short term with Mason expected to miss three more games.

Next up is a Tampa Bay defense that just gave up 23 points in a home loss to Cleveland.
