Despite Arizona deactivating WR Marvin Harrison Jr. on Sunday ahead of his trade to the Texans, veteran Kendrick Bourne remained in the same role as the previous week. He played three fewer snaps than WR Jalen Brooks, who trailed well behind leader Michael Wilson (61-39). Brooks and Bourne ran a matching 33 routes, trailing Wilson (44) and TE Trey McBride (51). Bourne did climb to second on the team in targets (8) and receptions (5) while leading the Cardinals with 70 yards. Brooks caught just two of 7 targets for 16 yards. Rookie WR Reggie Virgil got activated for the first time and finished with 2 catches for 29 yards on 5 targets.
TEs Get More Involved
Sunday's game also found the TEs behind McBride spending more time on the field.
Elijah Higgins ran a route on 22 of 54 dropbacks (40.7%), and Teagan Quitoriano ran 17 routes (31.5%) while snaring his only 2 targets for the team's first two scores.
Higgins ran just 25 total routes through the season's first four games. Quitoriano hadn't played a snap before Sunday.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Expect Modest Help
Bourne hit Sunday looking like the best bet to emerge as the No. 3 target in the wake of Harrison's departure. He got there in usage, but the whole picture doesn't add lend clarity to his weekly role going forward.
Bourne has hit 8 targets in two of five games and caught 5+ balls for 70+ yards in each of those games. But he totaled just 4 receptions on 6 targets in the three weeks between.
I'm still viewing Bourne as the third-best bet for receiving production among Cardinals WRs and TEs, but don't expect a climb beyond WR4 territory in weekly value and projection.
The slot man could see meaningful volume for deeper PPR leagues over the next three weeks:
- at Rams
- vs. Broncos
