Garrett Wilson Headshot

Jets WR Garrett Wilson managed only 4 catches for 44 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. Four of his six targets surfaced in the fourth quarter.

What They're Saying

Here’s HC Aaron Glenn on the matchup between Wilson and top CB Christian Gonzalez, who shadowed Wilson for most of Sunday’s game (via The Athletic).

“We kind of knew that Gonzalez was going to travel with him,” Glenn said. “Listen, we have all the confidence in the world, whoever guards Garrett, that he can win. I think, as the game progressed, we started to get him the ball a lot more. We have to make a point to make sure that no matter who’s on him, that we’ll get a chance to get him the ball.”

Here’s Wilson’s take on the coverage from Gonzalez.

“He’s a really good player, he followed me (some) and some plays he didn’t. I think it was just... I don’t know. It was just taking advantage of whatever look we were getting, what Geno [Smith] was seeing and that’s how it shook out today.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Wilson Seeking Consistency

Wilson simply wasn’t a featured player in this one. Even his long gain – 15 yards – came when he wasn’t shadowed by Gonzalez.

Wilson did see an end zone target, but he was double covered and never had a shot to haul it in. Later, he committed a borderline drop on a pass over the middle.

The 26-year-old has mixed some highly useful fantasy outings with some major duds. Since Week 3, he's posted PPR point totals of 26.7, 5.7, 23.4, and 8.4 (in Week 6). Now, his future volume may be impacted by the quick rise of Cooper.

Wilson also faces the sixth-toughest WR strength of schedule, making it more likely that his inconsistent production continues. He’ll remain a fantasy WR2 when our rest-of-season ranks are updated on Tuesday.
