The Eagles announced Wednesday that RB Dameon Pierce has landed on IR, but they still have yet to disclose the injury that knocked him out of Monday night's loss to Dallas late. The team also announced that it has elevated RB Jaydon Blue from the practice squad to the active roster.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Not Much Left at RB
The Eagles will now apparently roll with Saquon Barkley, Elijah Mitchell, and Blue as their backfield for Sunday night's game against the Commanders.
Pierce joins Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley on IR. Bigsby's eligible to return as early as Week 9 but seems likely to remain out through the Week 10 bye after core-muscle surgery. Shipley's earliest possible return is Week 11.
Philly also recently waived RB Carson Steele with an injury settlement.
We'll see about Barkley's health this week. He played against the Cowboys in Week 7 but saw scant use while working through the hamstring issue plus a new back injury.
Pierce is safe to drop in most fantasy leagues.
You can add Blue in deeper leagues, but he'll need to prove his relevance before you should consider using him.
