The Packers expect to get Edge Micah Parsons back at practice for the first time this season ahead of Week 9, but don't look for him on the field that week. According to multiple reports, Parsons and the team are targeting the Wednesday night game of Week 12 for his return to game action. Parsons tore the ACL and meniscus in his left knee last December.
What They're Saying
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: "Parsons is set to practice next week, having hit all of his most recent rehab markers. But that does not mark the conclusion of his rehab, according to sources; it only continues the ramp-up process Parsons and Green Bay's respected training staffs have undertaken. For instance: The plan for next week is for Parsons to participate in individual drills during practice. The following week, if all goes well, he'll be in team drills. Then there is Green Bay's bye in Week 11, followed by the abbreviated week of preparation for the Wednesday night Thanksgiving Eve game."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Don't Drop a Productive IDP for Parsons
Parsons has been open about his process trying to ensure that he doesn't hit the field too early and subject himself to compensatory injuries.
What we don't know, of course, is how big a role he'll play upon his return. I'd be surprised if he and the team follow all the caution of his rehab by throwing him out there for a full alotment of snaps in the first game.
Parsons is good enough to deliver a useful fantasy line even on limited snaps, but it'll obviously be risky to start him in your IDP lineup for his first game in nearly a year.
Whether to go ahead and stash Parsons on your fantasy roster depends heavily on your scoring and roster format, as well as available roster space.
Green Bay's schedule from Week 13 on doesn't look overly favorable for the pass rush. Here's how the final five opponents on the fantasy calendar rank in sack rate allowed:
- Saints 20th
- Bills 16th
- Dolphins fifth
- Bears 14th
- Texans 18th
