The Jaguars on Sunday placed RB Alfred Blue on IR. Waiting until Sunday indicates the Jags plan to bring him back mid-season. Had Jacksonville made the move Saturday, Blue would be done for the season. His deactivation leaves only Ryquell Armstead behind Leonard Fournette among RBs from the preseason. Jacksonville claimed RBs Tyler Ervin and Devine Ozigbo off waivers

The Jaguars expect RB Alfred Blue to miss the coming week of practice and Thursday's 3rd exhibition game against the Dolphins, according to Phillip Heilman of The Athletic. Blue sprained his left ankle in Thursday night's game agains the Eagles. His absence will leave Ryquell Armstead, Thomas Rawls, Elijah Hood and Devante Mays behind Leonard Fournette in the Jacksonville backfield. Armstead returned to practice Saturday, according to USA Today's James Johnson, after sustaining a concussion in the team's 1st preseason contest.

Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead (hamstring) has been activated from the PUP list. He'll now duke it out with Alfred Blue for the #2 RB job. It's an unexciting battle -- but the winner could have fantasy value this season considering Leonard Fournette's injury history.

Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead has been placed on the PUP list to open training camp. The rookie has been sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered way back in early June. Consider Alfred Blue the favorite to win the title of Leonard Fournette Handcuff for now. We'll see if Armstead can get on the field and make a push.

The Jaguars grabbed Temple RB Ryquell Armstead in Round 5 of the 2019 NFL Draft. Armstead compiled 2,812 yards and 34 scores on 573 carries (4.9 YPC) over the past 4 seasons, adding a 29-175-0 receiving line. He’s a power runner at 5’11 and 220 pounds but ranked just 51st in this RB class in Pro Football Focus’ 2018 Elusive Rating. Armstead also disappointed with a 24th percentile SPARQ score at the Combine. He’ll battle Alfred Blue for backup duties this year behind Leonard Fournette, who’s had trouble staying healthy.

RB Alfred Blue has reached a 1-year deal with the Jaguars. Turning 28 later this month, Blue proved capable of handling big workloads when called upon in Houston. But he's averaging 3.6 yards per carry for his career and doesn't offer much in the passing game. He'll back up Leonard Fournette in Jacksonville and be just a handcuff in fantasy football. It's worth noting, of course, that Fournette has missed 11 games over his first 2 NFL seasons.

Texans RB D'Onta Foreman is inactive for today's game against the Jaguars. Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue will handle backfield duties.

Texans RB D’Onta Foreman (Achilles) is active for today’s game against the Eagles. It’ll be his first game action since last year’s torn Achilles. Foreman figures to see just a handful of touches behind lead back Alfred Blue.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. That leaves Alfred Blue as Houston's lead back. D'Onta Foreman might also be ready to make his 2018 debut after last year's torn Achilles. Blue is the better fantasy play, though, and has some RB2 upside vs. a Philly defense that's allowed 5.4 yards per carry to RBs over the past 5 weeks.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. HC Bill O’Brien said Friday that Miller “has a chance” to play against the Eagles on Sunday. We’ll get his official status by noon ET. If Miller suits up, he’ll be a risk/reward RB2 at less than 100%. If not, Alfred Blue figures to serve as Houston’s lead back. RB D’Onta Foreman (Achilles) could also make his 2018 debut.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the ankle injury Texans RB Lamar Miller suffered in Saturday's win over the Jets is "not serious." Rapoport adds that there's "a chance" Miller is able to play next week. RB Alfred Blue mustered just 6 yards on 9 carries in relief of Miller vs. the Jets. It's possible we see some RB D'Onta Foreman against the Eagles next week if Miller can't go next week. We'll keep an eye on the situation this coming week.

Texans RB Lamar Miller injured his ankle in the 1st half of Saturday's game against the Jets. He returned briefly but then headed back to the locker room. Miller is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we learn more. Alfred Blue will serve as Houston's lead back while Miller is out.

Texans RB D'Onta Foreman (Achilles) is inactive for today's game against the Colts. He was activated this week but evidently isn't ready to contribute yet. Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue will continue to serve as Houston's top 2 RBs.

The Texans on Tuesday activated RB D'Onta Foreman from the PUP list. He had been on it since summer, while working back from last November's torn Achilles' tendon. It's hard to envision Foreman playing a big role in fantasy lineups over the final 3 weeks of most seasons, but he's at least worth an add as a handcuff to Lamar Miller. Houston would have little reason to bring Foreman back to the active roster at all unless it planned to give him a decent role.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Texans expect RB D'Onta Foreman to return to practice next week. Foreman has been on the PUP list all season, coming off the Achilles' tear that cut his 2017 short. He'll have 3 weeks to get activated or placed on IR. We'll see how the 2nd-year RB progresses. Houston starter Lamar Miller has surged over the past 2 weeks, though, and doesn't look quite as susceptible to the potential Foreman challenge as he did a few weeks ago.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) isn’t listed on the final Week 6 injury report. He figures to form a committee backfield with Alfred Blue against the Bills on Sunday, making both guys just RB3 or flex options.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) put in a full practice on Thursday. It's confirmation that he'll return for this weekend's game against the Bills. Miller figures to form a committee with Alfred Blue, making both guys just RB3/Flex plays.

Texans HC Bill O'Brien said Monday that RB Lamar Miller (chest) is expected back for this weekend's game against the Bills. Miller was active as an emergency option only last night and didn't end up playing. He might return to a committee backfield with Alfred Blue -- and will also need to contend with D'Onta Foreman's eventual return.

Texans RB Lamar Miller (chest) is "not likely to play" against the Cowboys tonight, despite being active, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It sounds like Miller is dressed as an emergency option only. He should not be in fantasy lineups. Alfred Blue will carry the load in Houston's backfield, making him a volume-based fantasy play.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are "pessimistic" about RB Lamar Miller's chances of playing Sunday night against the Cowboys. He's officially questionable with a chest injury. Alfred Blue would start if Miller's out.
