ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Texans CB Bradley Roby will not travel with the team to Jacksonville. Roby had been dealing with a knee issue, but Schefter reports that the decision is not injury or COVID related. So it's not clear why the team is benching basically the only corner that has performed decently for it this season. This helps the matchup for Jaguars WR D.J. Chark, though his biggest challenge figures to be 1st-time starter Jake Luton at QB.
Texans CBs Gareon Conley (hip) and Bradley Roby (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Broncos. So is OLB Brennan Scarlett (shoulder), who missed last Sunday's win over the Patriots. It's an upside matchup for Scarlett, who produced well in the 3 games before he sat out.
Texans S Tashaun Gipson (back) is active for tonight's game against the Colts. CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) is out. Neither is much of an IDP factor.
The Texans have ruled S Justin Reid (concussion) out for Thursday night's game against the Colts. S Tashaun Gipson (back) and CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) are questionable. Gipson returned for last week's loss to Baltimore after missing the previous 2 contests. Roby has missed the past 4 games.
Texans CBs Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) and Bradley Roby (hamstring) are both inactive for today’s game against the Raiders. It’s a great spot for QB Derek Carr and the passing game.
Houston starting CBs Johnathan Joseph (neck, hamstring) and Bradley Roby (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Both guys put in limited practices all week. Roby missed last week's game. Joseph played through a "questionable" tag after missing the previous game but left early with a new injury. We'll see about their status Sunday morning.
Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Colts. He missed last week but is back for your IDP lineups. Fellow starting CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) is inactive, however.
Texans starting CBs Johnathan Joseph and Bradley Roby are questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts because of hamstring injuries. Each guy put in limited practices all week. We'll see about their statuses Sunday morning. Joseph is a solid IDP option when healthy. Roby hasn't been. The matchup will be positive for Houston passing-game pieces regardless of whether Joseph and/or Roby plays.
The league on Monday suspended Broncos CB Aqib Talib for 1 game for his eye poke, according to Mike Klis of 9News in Denver. Talib poked the right eye of Colts TE Dwayne Allen on Sunday as Allen argued with Broncos OLB Von Miller after a play. We'll see if Talib appeals it. Missing him against the Chiefs on Sunday shouldn't be a huge deal for an otherwise strong Denver secondary. Bradley Roby looks like the best bet to start in Talib's spot outside if he sits.
Update: Talib told The Denver Post that he'll appeal: "It was not intentional. I should have never went over there in the first place. My emotions got the best of me. I was a little heated ... That's what I regret. As coach (Gary) Kubiak said, I have to be smarter than that." It sure looked intentional from here.
The Broncos picked Ohio State CB Bradley Roby in the 1st round of the NFL draft. Roby could challenge for a starting job right away for a team that lost CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in free agency and released CB Champ Bailey. Top slot CB Chris Harris is coming off an ACL tear. We're not betting on a significant IDP impact from Roby, but playing across from CB Aqib Talib could bring a lot of targets his way.
