Lions WRs Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola are out for this weekend’s game against the Panthers. Golladay was limited on Wednesday before sitting out on Thursday and Friday, so it looks like he suffered a setback. Marvin Jones, Marvin Hall and Quintez Cephus figure to operate as Detroit’s top 3 WRs on Sunday.
Lions WR Danny Amendola was knocked out of Sunday's win over Washington with a hip injury. We'll look for an update on the severity.
Lions WR Kenny Golladay (hip) missed practice all week and is out for Sunday's game vs. Washington. Danny Amendola has actually out-targeted Marvin Jones 24 to 18 in the 3 games Golladay has missed this season.
Lions WR Kenny Golladay is listed as doubtful for this weekend’s opener against the Bears after injuring his hamstring in Wednesday’s practice. Fantasy owners should obviously have him on Week 1 benches — and hope he’s able to return for Week 2. Golladay is a big loss for QB Matt Stafford and frees up extra targets for Marvin Jones, T.J. Hockenson and Danny Amendola.
The Lions selected Wisconsin WR Quintez Cephus in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Cephus trudged to a 4.73-second 40 time at the Combine, although he did post above-average marks in the vertical and broad jumps at 6’1 and 202 pounds. He’s obviously not going to win with athleticism as a pro, but Cephus does a lot of little things well. He can beat press coverage, is an advanced route runner and is strong in contested situations. Cephus missed the entire 2018 season after being accused of sexual assault. He was later acquitted of those charges and returned to Wisconsin to post a 59-901-7 line this past year. Cephus tallied nice market shares, and his 3.1 yards per route run ranked 5th among 30 of this year’s top WR prospects. He figures to battle with Geronimo Allison for the #4 WR job in Detroit this season behind Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola. But all 4 of those guys are currently scheduled to hit free agency next offseason.
Lions WR Marvin Jones has been placed on IR with an ankle injury suffered near the end of Sunday's loss to the Vikings. He ends the 2019 campaign with a 62-779-9 line -- although 6 of those scores came in 2 games. Turning 30 in March, Jones should be back as Detroit's #2 WR next year. WR Chris Lacy is next up on the Lions' depth chart for the rest of this season, but he's not a realistic fantasy option. Jones' absence should just mean more targets for WRs Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola.
The Lions will hold QB Matt Stafford out of today's game against the Bears, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Stafford has fractured bones in his back, and it's unclear if he'll miss more time beyond Week 10. His absence leaves QB Jeff Driskel, who joined the Lions in mid-September, as today's starter. The 2016 6th-rounder made 5 starts for the Bengals last year, completing just 58.6% of his passes and averaging only 5.5 yards per attempt. He did post a 5-to-2 TD:INT ratio and ran for 81 yards. Driskel is a bottom-barrel QB2 and is a big downgrade for Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson. Upgrade the Bears defense.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lions QB Matt Stafford (back) is "hoping" to play against the Bears today, although some are trying to convince him to sit out. Stafford is reportedly a true game-time decision. We didn't hear any concern about his status throughout the week, but he's clearly dealing with a legitimate injury here. We'll get his official status around 11:30 am ET, but even a healthy Stafford was a shaky fantasy play in Chicago. QB Jeff Driskel will start if Stafford is out and would obviously be a big downgrade for the passing game.
Lions WR Danny Amendola (chest) is inactive for today’s game against the Chiefs. TE T.J. Hockenson might be the biggest beneficiary of Amendola’s absence. WRs Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones could also pick up a few extra targets.
Lions WR Danny Amendola (chest) is questionable for this weekend’s game against the Chiefs after only putting in a limited practice on Friday. Amendola shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans, but his absence would open up a few extra targets for Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson.
The Lions signed WR Danny Amendola to a 1-year, $4.5 million deal. The 33-year-old has caught 120 balls over the past 2 seasons -- 1 with New England, 1 with Miami -- but totaled just 1,234 yards and 3 TDs. He figures to step in as Detroit's slot receiver behind Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. With run-loving OC Darrell Bevell now calling the shots, it's tough to imagine Amendola seeing enough targets to be a 2019 fantasy factor.
The Dolphins have released WR Danny Amendola. The 33-year-old caught 59 balls for 575 yards and 1 TD in his lone season in Miami. Amendola is still a reliable depth guy, but his days as a fantasy asset are over. With WR DeVante Parker also expected to be let go, the Fins are down to Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant atop the depth chart. We'll see what they add over the next few months.
Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) is active for today’s game against the Patriots. He’s a low-end PPR option.
Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. New England has struggled against slot receivers this season, but Amendola would be a risky Week 14 fantasy play at less than 100%.
Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) is inactive for today’s game against the Bills. DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Leonte Carroo will serve as Miami’s top 3 WRs.
Dolphins WR Danny Amendola (knee) didn’t practice all week and is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Bills. His absence leaves Miami with WRs DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Leonte Carroo.
