The Jets signed WR Josh Doctson. The 2016 first-rounder was a bust in Washington and didn't record a single catch in Minnesota this past season. Doctson is still just 27 and will find opportunity in New York, where the Jets are expected to lose WR Robby Anderson in free agency. But we're not holding our breath for a Doctson breakout.

The Vikings have signed WR Josh Doctson, who was released by the Redskins over the weekend. The former 1st-rounder has been a colossal disappointment through 3 NFL seasons. We'll see if the change of scenery does him any good. Doctson could theoretically take over as Minnesota's #3 WR, a spot currently held by Chad Beebe. But for now, he's not worth a roster spot in redraft leagues.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Redskins will release WR Josh Doctson if they can't find a trade partner before the 4 pm ET roster cutdown deadline. (They won't). Doctson has been 1 of the least efficient WRs in the league over the past 3 seasons, hauling in just 50% of his targets. We'll see where he ends up, but he's off the fantasy radar for now. Washington will open the season with Paul Richardson at 1 starting outside WR spot and Trey Quinn in the slot. Rookie Terry McLaurin looks like the favorite for the other outside spot.

Redskins insider JP Finlay "wouldn't be shocked" if WR Josh Doctson was cut before Week 1. "What I can tell you from sources, they've tried to trade Doctson for two years. They haven't been able to trade him," Finlay said. "The athletic ability is there, but it never all comes together. I wouldn't be shocked if Josh Doctson gets cut when they go down to 53. I don't expect it to happen, but Jay Gruden and the front office made a big proclamation when they didn't pick up that [5th-year] option." Finlay went on to say that Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn and Terry McLaurin are all ahead of Doctson on the depth chart. Doctson is obviously off the redraft radar, and his dynasty stock continues to sink.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden gushed about rookie WR Terry McLaurin in a recent interview with The Athletic's Ben Standig. “I think the addition of Terry has been a wow factor for me personally and I think everybody who has seen him run on a daily basis,” Gruden said. “He’s powerful, he’s smart, and he’s physical. That’s a combination that’s rare. He’s been exciting.” As for WRs Paul Richardson and Josh Doctson, Gruden said, "both of those guys are doing fine." Standig projects McLaurin to be a Week 1 starter alongside Richardson and slot man Trey Quinn. We're moving McLaurin up the WR rankings (and Doctson down).

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (concussion) is active for today’s game against the Jaguars. Between that matchup and having Josh Johnson under center, Doctson is an extremely shaky fantasy play.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Jaguars. He returned to practice on Friday but still needs to gain final clearance. We’ll see if he’s active on Sunday morning, but Doctson is a weak fantasy play in a tough matchup and with Josh Johnson under center.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden said Monday that WR Josh Doctson is in the concussion protocol. There was no announcement from the team during or after yesterday's loss to the Giants. Regardless, Doctson is now iffy for this weekend's game against the Jaguars. Of course, he shouldn't be in your fantasy plans anyway.

Washington WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) was ruled out of Sunday's game vs. Tampa Bay. Crowder hasn't suited up since Week 5, and his absence boosts the deep league value of Maurice Harris and Josh Doctson.

Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) is inactive for today’s game against the Panthers. WRs Paul Richardson (shoulder, knee) and Josh Doctson (heel) are active and figure to serve as the team’s top 2 WRs. They’re tough to like as more than WR4s, though. We’re expecting TE Jordan Reed to be busy today.

Redskins WRs Paul Richardson (shoulder, knee), Jamison Crowder (ankle) and Josh Doctson (heel) are all listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Panthers. We'll see who's able to give it a go around noon ET on Sunday, but none of these guys are reliable fantasy options. TE Jordan Reed could be busy this weekend.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (heel) is inactive for tonight's game against the Saints. WR Maurice Harris will start in his place but isn't a viable fantasy target. Jordan Reed, Jamison Crowder and Chris Thompson should control targets for Washington in this one.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (heel) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Saints. He didn't practice all week, though, so don't bank on him playing. Doctson's absence would mean a few extra targets to spread between Jamison Crowder, Paul Richardson, Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson missed his 2nd straight practice Friday with a heel injury. We don't have any other details, but he's not looking like a good bet to play against the Saints on Monday night. Doctson has averaged just 4.3 targets through 3 games, so his absence wouldn't make a huge fantasy impact.

Washington HC Jay Gruden said Saturday that his offense's spread-it-around style might make it tough for WR Josh Doctson to compile huge stats, according to ESPN's John Keim. But Gruden also said that Doctson will be "most dangerous" in the red zone. That's music to the ears of fantasy football owners, and it's not at all far-fetched. ESPN's Mike Clay points out that Doctson ranked 7th in the league last year with 17 end-zone targets. That came despite Doctson only reaching 50% playing time once over the 1st 5 games. The 3rd-year wideout brings durability risk but also big upside from his WR51 July ADP.

Washington started WR Josh Doctson at the "X" spot in place of Terrelle Pryor at Philadelphia on Monday night. HC Jay Gruden had spoken recently of wanting to get Doctson more involved. ESPN's John Keim indicated that coaches believe Doctson is the most talented wideout on the roster. He has struggled with durability and has had trouble getting onto the field this year. Pryor garnered 11 targets in the Week 1 loss to Philadelphia and looked like the guy Washington wanted to become a lead target. But he drew just 4, 4, 5 and 5 looks over the next 4 games and hasn't topped 3 catches since the opener. We'll be interested to see the final playing-time numbers and what Gruden has to say about the WR corps after the game.

Update: Pryor played just 1 of 30 offensive snaps in the 1st half. He wound up playing 30 of 64 for the game. Doctson played 54, 2nd behind Jamison Crowder (58) among Washington wideouts. Docton's worth a pickup ahead of the Week 8 clash with Dallas.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Rams. He went target-less in the opener and shouldn’t be in Week 2 fantasy lineups.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rams after a limited week of practice. He went target-less in the opener and was never a Week 2 fantasy option.
