Kenny Stills Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Saints WR Kenny Stills has been promoted to the active roster. The 29-year-old was signed to New Orleans' practice squad less than 2 weeks ago but has plenty of experience in the offense after spending his first 2 NFL seasons with the Saints. We'll see how much action he gets vs. the Patriots on Sunday, but Stills obviously isn't a Week 3 fantasy option.

The Saints signed WR Kenny Stills to their practice squad. Stills spent the first 2 seasons of his NFL career in New Orleans before moving on to Miami and then Houston. Stills is 29 now and caught just 11 balls across 10 games with the Texans last year. We'll keep an eye on him but wouldn't bother adding Stills to fantasy rosters right now.

Bills WR Kenny Stills has been promoted from the practice squad for Sunday's AFC Championship vs. the Chiefs. It's an indication that WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) won't play, although that's still not official. Signed just a few weeks ago, Stills is unlikely to have a big role in Kansas City.

The Texans are releasing WR Kenny Stills, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Still has caught just 11 balls this season and missed Week 12 with a quad injury. We'll see where he latches on, but he's obviously a long shot to provide any fantasy value the rest of the year.

Texans WRs Randall Cobb (toe) and Kenny Stills (quad) are out for Thursday's game against the Lions. That elevates WR Keke Coutee to #3 on the depth chart and makes him an intriguing DFS flier on the 3-game Thanksgiving slate. TE Jordan Akins could also see a volume boost.

Update: Cobb has been placed on IR, so he'll miss at least 2 more games beyond Thanksgiving.

Texans WR Randall Cobb suffered a toe injury "considered significant" in Sunday's win over the Patriots, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He's set to undergo additional testing but "is set to miss games," Rapoport adds. Houston also lost WR Kenny Stills to a leg injury yesterday. That left Keke Coutee as the #3 WR.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Texans WR Brandin Cooks "is a true game-day decision" with his quad injury. "But he has improved the past 24 hours, and there's optimism he'll play" in the Thursday night opener, Pelissero adds. In most cases you should still skip over Cooks for your fantasy lineup. Even if he plays, Cooks would likely be at an elevated risk for re-injury, and there have already been murmurs about the Texans limiting his Week 1 role. If Cooks doesn't play, Kenny Stills would likely start in his place. Treat Stills as merely a DFS option, though, outside of deep leagues.

Texans WR Brandin Cooks (quad) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's opener against the Chiefs. He returned to a limited practice on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's workout. We'll get Cooks' game status by 7 pm ET tomorrow, but fantasy owners should try to keep him out of Week 1 lineups. Cooks' absence would boost the target projections for WRs Will Fuller, Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills.

The Texans have traded the 57th pick in the NFL Draft to the Rams for WR Brandin Cooks and a 4th-round pick in 2022. Cooks joins the trio of Will Fuller, Kenny Stills and Randall Cobb atop Houston's WR depth chart and should be the best bet to lead the group in targets. His departure from the Rams leaves room for WR Josh Reynolds to capture more playing time -- barring a significant WR addition in the upcoming draft. The Rams also cut Cooks' playing time in the 2nd half of last season, preferring to get more TEs on the field.

On the same day they traded away WR DeAndre Hopkins, the Texans also agreed to a 3-year deal with WR Randall Cobb. NFL Network's James Jones reports it's a $27 million pact, including $18.75 million guaranteed. That comes a year after Cobb managed only a 1-year, $5 million contract with the Cowboys. Cobb did rebound with Dallas last season. He averaged 15.1 yards per catch after 4 straight seasons of 10.5 or less, and Pro Football Focus graded him a solid 57th among all WRs, up from 115th in 2018. But Cobb also averaged just 3.7 receptions per game as the #3 wideout and hasn't reached 56 yards per game since 2014. Cobb joins Kenny Stills and Will Fuller in a Houston WR corps with no clear leader. But they do, at least, have a dynamic young QB. Cobb will turn 30 in August.

The Texans are set to trade WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Wow. Hopkins is an elite receiver in the prime of his career with 3 years remaining on a manageable contract. It's a mind-boggling move by the Texans, leaving Will Fuller and Kenny Stills atop the depth chart for now. Those 2 are big winners here, while QB Deshaun Watson's fantasy stock takes a significant hit. QB Kyler Murray, meanwhile, gets the legitimate #1 WR that he was missing last year. He looks like a top-5 QB in 2020 fantasy drafts. Hopkins should easily remain a WR1 in a pass-leaning offense piloted by an accurate QB.

Update: Schefter reports that the Cardinals are receiving Hopkins and a late-round pick in exchange for RB David Johnson and a 2nd-rounder. Other picks are involved in the trade. Hopkins is expected to get a new contract from Arizona.

Update: The Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports it's Hopkins and a 4th-round pick to Arizona for Johnson, a 2020 2nd-rounder and a 2021 4th-rounder.

NFL Network's James Palmer reports that Texans WR Will Fuller (groin), WR Kenny Stills (knee) and TE Darren Fells (hip) will all be active for today's game against the Chiefs. Fuller will remain risky in his return from a multi-game injury. QB Deshaun Watson, however, will have his near-full group of weapons. TE Jordan Akins (hamstring) looks like the only regular piece missing. His absence helps Fells, who saw a season-high 7 targets in the Week 6 meeting with Kansas City.

Bills DE Shaq Lawson (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Texans. CB Levi Wallace (ankle) is OUT. Both players entered the day questionable. Wallace's absence leaves Buffalo without its starting outside CB opposite Tre'Davious White. That's good news for Houston WR Kenny Stills (with Will Fuller out).

As expected, Texans WR Will Fuller (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Bills. It's a significant loss for Houston's passing game. Kenny Stills will serve as the #2 WR, with either Keke Coutee or DeAndre Carter as the #3.

NFL Network's James Palmers hears from "multiple sources" that Texans WR Will Fuller (groin) is a "real long shot" for Saturday's game against the Bills. He's listed as questionable after a limited week of practice and was labeled a game-time decision by HC Bill O'Brien. Fuller's injury was originally expected to cost him 3 weeks, though, so it's not a surprise that he's not expected to play. We'll get his official status around 3 pm ET on Saturday. Kenny Stills will operate as Houston's #2 WR if Fuller is out.

Buffalo
3:12pm EST 12/29/19

Texans WR Kenny Stills (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Titans. Other starters like QB Deshaun Watson and WR DeAndre Hopkins aren't expected to play much, if at all, as long as the Chiefs knock off the Chargers.

The Texans "won't take any chances" in their game against the Titans this afternoon, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweets. Houston will have "several starters on the sidelines even if they aren’t inactive," per Rapoport. That might change if the Chiefs lose to the Chargers in the 1 pm ET time slot, giving the Texans a shot to climb into the #3 seed. But if Kansas City wins, don't expect to see much of QB Deshaun Watson or WR DeAndre Hopkins. WR Kenny Stills and RBs Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson could also be limited.

Texans WR Will Fuller (groin) is out for Sunday’s game against the Titans. WRs DeAndre Hopkins (illness) and Kenny Stills (knee) are listed as questionable. Both guys figure to be available, but they could be rested in a meaningless game for Houston if the Chiefs win earlier on Sunday afternoon.

Texans WR Will Fuller is "likely" to miss 3 weeks with his groin injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. So he'll miss Sunday's regular-season finale and should be considered doubtful for the Wild Card Round. We'll see about Fuller's status beyond that. Kenny Stills will step in as Houston's #2 WR in the meantime.
