Washington has activated LB Reuben Foster from the PUP list. Foster opened training camp on the PUP following last May's ACL tear but appears on track for Week 1. Foster hasn't played in an NFL game since Week 6 of 2018 but should find an open path to a starting job in a weak Washington LB corps. He's a nice option for IDP upside late in your fantasy football draft.
Washington LB Reuben Foster is "believed to have suffered a torn ACL, plus additional damage" in a non-contact drill Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He added that the "injury has been described as major and significant" (which seems redundant). Foster is reportedly getting further opinions to determine the extent of the damage, but it sure sounds like he'll miss the coming season. Washington dumped Zach Brown in the offseason after he spent 2 years starting next to Mason Foster. Brown has since signed with the Eagles. Top candidates currently on the roster to fill the void are Shaun Dion Hamilton and Josh Harvey-Clemons. The Reuben Foster injury adds IDP upside to Mason Foster.
The league will fine Washington LB Reuben Foster 2 game checks but not suspend him "following a review of recent incidents and an assessment of his adherence to obligations arising from previous violations of league policies." The statement from the NFL went on to say that evidence didn't indicate any further violation of the personal-conduct policy in the November incident that involved a girlfriend. Foster will now be available to take over the spot vacated when Washington cut Zach Brown in March. We'll see if the team adds any further competition in the NFL Draft. At the moment, Shaun Dion Hamilton looks like Foster's chief competition.
The 49ers have ruled S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and LB Reuben Foster (hamstring) out for Monday night’s game against the Giants. Tartt’s absence puts Antone Exum in starting range for IDP lineups, after he delivered starter production while filling in earlier this season
The 49ers have ruled LB Reuben Foster (hamstring) out for Thursday night's game against the Raiders. That likely means a start for Elijah Lee in his place. Lee started 1 other game back in Week 2 and racked up 12 tackles (10 solo) and a sack. That's not enough to make him a strong option for Week 9, especially given Foster's saggy production. But there's potential IDP relevance for deep-leaguers.
Niners LB Reuben Foster (hamstring) and S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) each left Sunday's loss to the Cardinals early with injuries and did not return. San Francisco now plays Oakland on Thursday night, which will challenge the ability of either defender to make it back for Week 9.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that the 49ers will keep rookie Fred Warner at MLB today against the Chiefs and start Reuben Foster and Malcolm Smith at the OLB spots. Foster is returning from a 2-game suspension, while Smith missed the 1st 2 games with a hamstring injury. It remains to be seen who the Niners will keep on the field for passing sub packages. IDP owners can use Warner and Foster in Week 3 lineups, but be aware of the lingering playing-time question if you're facing tough starting decisions.
The 49ers got LBs Malcolm Smith and Reuben Foster back on the practice field Wednesday. Smith didn't even appear on the injury report, putting in a full workout after missing the 1st 2 games with a hamstring injury. Foster, meanwhile, completed his 2-game conduct-policy suspension and is eligible to return against the Chiefs this Sunday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday the coaches haven't decided on a plan for their LBs yet. The performance of rookie Fred Warner through 2 weeks complicates the decision. We'll watch for word from the coaches through the week. If we don't gain clarity before Sunday, though, it'll be tough to trust any Niners LB in IDP lineups.
Niners LB Reuben Foster was in uniform for Thursday night's preseason finale, indicating that he has cleared the league concussion protocol. He'll still miss the 1st 2 regular-season games because of a conduct-policy suspension, but Foster should be good to go after that. Rookie Fred Warner appears likely to start in Foster's place and carries attractive long-term upside for dynasty leagues.
Niners ILB Reuben Foster left Saturday's game against the Colts in the 3rd quarter with a concussion. That's likely to keep him out of the final preseason contest. The 2nd-year player is suspended for the 1st 2 games of the season under the league's personal-conduct policy but should regain his starting spot in Week 3.
The league has suspended 49ers LB Reuben Foster for the 1st 2 games of the season for violating the conduct and substances of abuse policies. Foster was arrested for marijuana possession in January and then domestic violence in February. He got cleared of the latter charge after the accuser admitted to lying. The wording of the NFL's announcement seems to indicate he's being punished for both incidents, however. We'll see if he appeals -- and where that might go -- but IDP owners should expect to miss the 2nd-year LB for 2 weeks. Rookie Fred Warner figures to fill in while Foster sits. The 3rd-rounder worked as the 2nd-team MLB in spring workouts.
The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) district attorney’s office has dismissed the misdemeanor marijuana charge against 49ers LB Reuben Foster after he finished a diversion course. That clears Foster of any further legal discipline, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the league won’t take action. We’ll see if anything comes on that front
A judge Wednesday dismissed the domestic violence charges against 49ers LB Reuben Foster. That clears him of the offseason’s most serious issue, after his ex-girlfriend recanted her story and admitted to lying about an assault. Foster also got arrested in January for marijuana possession. We’ll see if that case brings about league discipline. If it does, Foster would likely only be looking at a game or 2
Santa Clara police have charged 49ers LB Reuben Foster with felony domestic violence stemming from a February arrest. According to a press release from the district attorney's office, Foster "physically attacked" his live-in girlfriend, "leaving her bruised and with a ruptured ear drum." Beyond the fact that he's (allegedly) an a-hole, this is the kind of charge that could jeopardize Foster's standing with the Niners and the league. A conviction, meanwhile, could mean 11+ years in jail, according to the press release. We'll see where this case goes, but dynasty owners should go ahead and plan on not having Foster available for at least the near future in IDP leagues.
Niners LB Reuben Foster has been arrested on domestic violence charges, as well as suspicion of possessing an automatic weapon, according to the San Francisco Chronicle and San Jose Mercury News. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero adds that the league is aware of Foster's arrest and "will look into the matter." The incident follows an arrest on drug charges in Alabama earlier this offseason and spells bad news for Foster in 2018. He'll likely need to emerge innocent from at least the 2nd set of charges to avoid league action for the coming season -- and might need to beat the rap on both. We'll see where this situation goes for a guy who should be 1 of the league's top ascending IDP factors in fantasy football.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers MLB Reuben Foster is expected to play today against the Cardinals. He missed last week's game with the rib injury that has him questionable for this week. An active Foster will be worth sticking into many IDP lineups, however. Check our Week 9 IDP rankings to see if he makes sense for you.
49ers MLB Reuben Foster (ankle) is out for today's game against the Eagles. That leaves Brock Coyle starting in the middle. Coyle played 100% of the defensive snaps when Foster missed Week 6. He's only a marginal IDP option, though. The Niners will also be without starting slot CB K'Waun Williams (quad). He's inactive.
Niners MLB Reuben Foster suffered a rib injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and did not return. We have yet to see further details on the injury, but Foster said after the game he didn't know if he'd be ready to play at Philly in Week 8. We'll keep an eye out for updates on Foster's condition.
As expected, 49ers MLB Reuben Foster is active and ready to start at MLB for the 1st time today against the Cowboys. He has been out since leaving the opener early with a high ankle sprain. If you waited for him, fire up the Niners rookie in IDP lineups today.
