Rest Of Way Outlook

Week 13
Moreau bombed for fantasy owners that spot-started him in Week 13: 1 catch for 34 yards. And it wasn’t even like he failed to capitalize on strong usage. Moreau surprisingly ran a route on just 64% of Vegas’ pass plays and saw only 3 targets (an 8% share). When TE Darren Waller missed Week 7, Moreau posted an 86% route rate and 18% target share.

His 2 missed targets in this one were excellent defensive plays by Washington LB Cole Holcomb. The 1st would have gone for about 20 yards, but Holcomb knocked it from Moreau’s hands as the 2 were falling to the turf. The 2nd came right at the goal line, with Holcomb making another good defensive play to break it up.

So Moreau was close to a passable fantasy day. But the underwhelming usage would make him tough to trust in Week 14 lineups if Waller sits again.
Week 7
Moreau filled in admirably for the injured Darren Waller in Sunday’s win over the Eagles. He caught all 6 of his targets on a day that saw Derek Carr complete 91.1% of passes.

Moreau’s biggest strike was an 18-yard TD on an impressive grab down the seam. He added a 21-yarder as well en route to a team-high 60 yards.

Waller was a game-time decision vs. Philly, so we’d guess that he’ll be ready to return after the bye. That would return Moreau to near-irrelevance. He tallied just 6 total targets through the first 6 games, despite topping 50% playing time each of the first 3 weeks. That fell off over the 3 contests leading up to Week 7, a span that saw just 1 total target for Moreau.

The Raiders selected LSU TE Foster Moreau in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Moreau served as the Tigers’ top TE the past 2 seasons, compiling 46 catches, 550 yards and 5 TDs in a run-heavy offense. The 6’4, 252-pounder earned an 85th percentile SPARQ score at the Combine, with a 4.66-second 40 time and 36.5-inch vertical. That athleticism suggests some fantasy upside. And he lands on a wide-open Oakland TE depth chart alongside Darren Waller and Luke Willson.
