The Saints ran 11 personnel on 85% of his 41 dropbacks and relied almost entirely on the pass. Their RBs managed just 11 yards on 14 carries against the Steelers’ run defense. That pushed Shough toward short throws, with Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller combining for 10 of the team’s 34 targets. Chris Olave led the way with 10 targets, followed by Kamara (7) and Devaughn Vele (5).

QB Tyler Shough finished as the QB2 in Week 6 with 28.4 fantasy points despite throwing for just 144 yards. He went 16 for 30 with 3 TDs and no INTs, and added 5 carries for 32 yards and a rushing TD. With the Saints holding a large lead, New Orleans ran the ball 36 times to Shough’s 30 attempts. The TDs did the heavy lifting on a low-volume day.

Vele accounted for just one reception on 2 targets for 2 yards in the first half before finishing with six receptions on nine targets for 54 yards and a TD as the Saints were forced to pass at a high rate in an effort to escape such a deficit in the second half. His garbage-time TD with fewer than two minutes left helped push him to a WR2 finish in Week 4 with 17.4 PPR points.

After initially not receiving a timetable for Jordyn Tyson’s return from a hamstring injury, it’s now reported that he’s expected to miss time “... deep into September,” per Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill. While the Saints haven’t officially placed him on injured reserve, Underhill says it’s possible as the team continues to evaluate his injury.

The New Orleans Saints selected North Dakota State WR Bryce Lance in Round 4 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Like his brother Trey, Lance starred at North Dakota State. He moved into the starting lineup in 2024 and immediately delivered. He posted back-to-back 1,000- yard seasons and earned first-team allconference honors both years. Lance brings ideal boundary size and vertical juice. He averaged 21.2 yards per catch in 2025 and posted an elite 3.57 yards per route run, one of the strongest efficiency marks in the class. Saints WR Devaughn Vele (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Jets, HC Kellen Moore said Wednesday. Vele has emerged as a key cog in New Orleans' passing game lately, totaling 16 catches, 202 yards, and a score over the last three games. His absence gives WR Chris Olave and TE Juwan Johnson more target upside.

Saints WR Devaughn Vele is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Panthers due to a shoulder injury. He led New Orleans with six targets, five catches, and 69 receiving yards before exiting late in the third quarter. We'll update his status when we know more.

Saints WR Chris Olave entered Sunday questionable to play due to back spasms. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and sat out Thursday’s session before returning on Friday. Ultimately, he suited up against Miami to snag 4 of 7 targets for 47 yards and a score.

Rookie QB Tyler Shough completed 19 of 27 passes for 282 yards and 2 TDs with no INTs i in the win against the Carolina Panthers. He supported the Saints’ top two receiving weapons in WR Chris Olave (5-104-1) and TE Juwan Johnson (4-92-1). Despite the strong showing, the Saints' offense only scored 17 points.
