Rest Of Way Outlook

Week 8
To the surprise of about everyone, the Jets pulled out the victory on the back of backup QB Mike White. White had a historic day vs. the Bengals as he became only the second QB in his NFL debut to throw for over 400 passing yards and 3 TDs. Believe it or not, but Mike White could have had a bigger day if Denzel Mims didn’t drop a 4th TD late in the 3rd quarter. The only downside to White’s game was he didn’t attack the Bengals defense vertically as didn’t attempt a passes of 20 plus yards or more downfield. This led to 19 RB targets in the game.
Overall, it was an impressive performance for White, who now has another starting opportunity in Week 9. However, now that defenses have tape on White they could force him to make more throws downfield taking away the RBs out of the backfield. In Superflex leagues and 2 QB leagues, White is a solid stash to see if the magic continues vs. the Colts in Week 9, but he’s not a recommend start just yet.

Jets QB Mike White will start Sunday's game against the Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Zach Wilson will use the week to get healthier," Rapoport adds. White was playing well again before injuring his forearm in last Thursday night's game vs. the Colts, completing 7 of 11 passes for 95 yards and a score. He's just a low-end QB2 vs. a tough Buffalo defense. But White has targeted RBs on about 40% of his passes, so this is good news for RB Michael Carter.

White told reporters after the loss that the forearm was already feeling better. It sounds like there's a good shot he's available for Week 10's game against the Bills.

The Cowboys scooped Western Kentucky QB Mike White in the 5th round. After starting his college career at South Florida, White transferred to Western Kentucky. He started there the past 2 seasons, completing 66.4% of his passes for 8,540 yards, 63 TDs and 15 INTs. White’s 76.3% adjusted completion rate last year ranked 3rd among draft-eligible QBs, according to Pro Football Focus. He also earned PFF’s 6th-highest grade on deep throws. White isn’t very mobile (5th percentile SPARQ) and struggles when pressured, but there’s some developmental upside here. He’ll battle Cooper Rush for backup duties in Dallas.
