Mike White Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa hurt his left shoulder in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He's officially questionable to return -- but he won't be back with Miami down by 30. We'll look for further updates on Tagovailoa's status heading into Week 18's game vs. the Bills for the AFC East title. QB Mike White is Miami's backup.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa had a nice Week 13, with 280 yards and 2 TDs in a blowout victory over the Commanders. But that score kept him from doing more. Tagovailoa attempted just 24 passes for the game, including going a mere 6-for-9 in the second half. He got pulled with 11:23 remaining. That obviously limited the QB's fantasy scoring for the game. More worrisome, though, is the remaining schedule. Tagovailoa looks good for a Week 14 matchup with Tennessee, which remains much tougher on the run than the pass. But his final three fantasy weeks are the toughest in the league for QB scoring by a wide margin. Try to secure a platoon for partner for the final three weeks.

Dolphins QB Mike White has entered the concussion protocol. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports that Miami staff members "found irregularities with him" during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans. It's White's first documented concussion, as far as we can tell.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins signed QB Mike White to a 2-year deal worth “up to” $16 million. It’s solid backup money for the former Jet, who’s proven capable as a spot-starter over the past 2 seasons. Tua Tagovailoa’s injury history suggests we’ll likely see White on the field at some point in 2023.

Jets QB Mike White (ribs) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. QB Joe Flacco gets the start; QB Zach Wilson is the backup.

The Jets have ruled QB Mike White out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He went from a full Wednesday practice to limited Thursday and then this, so the rib injury clearly remains a significant issue. He played as though that was the case at Seattle in Week 17. QB Joe Flacco will start, with Zach Wilson backing up, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. A healthy Flacco instead of a hurting White is probably better for the fantasy outlook of WR Garrett Wilson and the rest of the Jets' pass-catchers. Check our Week 18 fantasy football rankings to see where everyone sits.

Jets QB Mike White (ribs) practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday. We'll keep an eye on his status on tomorrow's injury report ahead of Week 18 vs. the Dolphins. Stay tuned for further updates.

Jets QB Mike White (ribs) practiced fully on Wednesday. Assuming nothing changes, White is set to be the starter for Week 18 vs. the Dolphins. We'll let you know if conflicting information arises at any point this week.

Jets QB Mike White (ribs) has been medically cleared and will start this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, insider Brian Costello reports. White's return comes after QB Zach Wilson was so bad in Thursday night's loss to the Jaguars that he was benched for QB Chris Streveler. The news is a boost for all of New York's skill-position guys, particularly WR Garrett Wilson.

10:30pm EST 12/22/22

Jets QB Zach Wilson was benched in favor of QB Chris Streveler in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Jaguars. Wilson completed just 9 of 18 passes for 92 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT against a bad Jacksonville defense (albeit in less-than-ideal conditions). We'd be surprised if Wilson found his way back onto the field again this season. We'll see if QB Mike White can get cleared for Week 17. If not, Streveler and QB Joe Flacco are options.

Jets HC Robert Saleh confirmed on Tuesday that QB Zach Wilson will start Thursday night's game vs. the Jaguars. QB Mike White (ribs) has still not been medically cleared. Wilson wound up compiling 317 yards and 2 TDs in last week's loss to the Lions -- but he completed just 51% of his passes, threw 1 INT and could have been picked off a few more times. Wilson remains a detriment to New York's offense. See where he and the Jets skill-position guys land in the Week 16 Rankings.

Jets QB Mike White has 3 fractured ribs and is not expected to be cleared for this coming Thursday night's game vs. the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll see if QB Zach Wilson can play well enough vs. the Lions today to get another start on Thursday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that doctors will not clear Jets QB Mike White for contact in time for Sunday's game with the Lions. That means QB Zach Wilson will return to the lineup. White twice left last Sunday's loss at Buffalo after taking shots to the midsection, but he returned each time. White said this week he was dealing with "general soreness," but he clearly sustained a more significant injury than he has conceded (likely to his ribs). So Wilson will return for the 1st time since his 9-for-22, 77-yard passing performance against the Patriots in Week 11. For the year, Wilson is averaging just 182.7 passing yards per game. White's 3 starts supplied 317.3 yards per game, at 0.6 more yards per pass attempt. The switch back is clearly bad news for Jets pass-catchers such as Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore and Tyler Conklin. Check our updated Week 15 fantasy football rankings to see where everyone sits.

Update: HC Robert Saleh has confirmed that White is out for Sunday's game vs. the Lions and that Wilson will start.
