The Buccaneers have agreed to a 1-year deal with former Bears DL Akiem Hicks. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it's worth $10 million, which clearly points to Hicks assuming a starting role with his new team. Tampa Bay had yet to re-sign DL Ndamukong Sun, and now has appeared to find his replacement. Hicks lost 8 games to multiple injuries last year and dealt with hamstring and ankle issues even in a healthier 2020. But the veteran has remained effective when on the field and sports some IDP upside, especially where he gets a DT or interior-lineman designation. Hicks will turn 33 in mid-November.

Bears LB Roquan Smith is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. He missed the first 2 days of practice with the hamstring injury that knocked him out of the Thanksgiving game. Smith did return for a limited Friday workout, but he looks risky even if active. Weigh that risk as you compare Smith to your other IDP options. We’ll update his status Sunday morning. Bears OLB Khalil Mack is questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. He told reporters Friday, though: "I'm going to be out there. If I'm out there, I'm 100%." Mack played through a questionable tag last week for a foot issue. This time around, he's also listed with a rib injury. There's risk but also upside to Mack in IDP lineups. DL Akiem Hicks (groin) is doubtful or the game. Chicago might get S Tashaun Gipson back. He's questionable with a hamstring injury that cost him the past 2 games.
