        Engram on field Monday

Giants TE Evan Engram was participating in team drills Monday, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. We won't get an official injury report until Wednesday, but the Giants got an early start coming off their Thursday night loss to Washington. We'll watch Engram's progress throughout the week, but it seems as though he's trending toward playing against the Falcons on Sunday.

        Engram out for Thursday night

The Giants have ruled TE Evan Engram out for Thursday night's game against Washington because of the calf injury he suffered in the final preseason game. The team reportedly entered the week hopeful he'd be ready. We'll see about Engram's participation level heading into Week 3. His absence will again leave Kyle Rudolph as New York's top TE.

        Engram out for Week 1

Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) is out for Sunday's opener against the Broncos. He didn't practice all week, so don't expect him back for next Thursday night's game at Washington. TE Kyle Rudolph (foot) was limited in practice all week but isn't listed on the final injury report. So he'll play vs. Denver, but it's unclear how big a role he'll be ready for after missing most of the offseason after foot surgery. Avoid the situation in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

        Engram hurts calf

Giants TE Evan Engram left Sunday's preseason finale against the Patriots with a left calf injury. It was a non-contact injury, and the team ruled him out for the game. That's not a good sign. We'll see about the official diagnosis. Pass on drafting Engram if your league drafts tonight. Kyle Rudolph would be worth later consideration if Engram is set to miss significant time.

Update: HC Joe Judge said after the game there is "optimism" that the injury is minor, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Engram will undergo testing Monday to determine the extent of the damage, so we should know more by Monday night.
