Stock Up/Stock Down Report (7-30 through 8-5)

By Jared Smola 9:08am EDT 8/6/16

Stock Up: These players have moved up the Draft Sharks rankings over the past week.

Bilal Powell, RB, Jets

There’s been lots of talk lately about a committee backfield in New York. Insider Darryl Slater joined the mix this week, predicting an “even carry split” between Powell and Matt Forte. We’re still expecting Forte to lead Jets RBs in fantasy points, but Powell is looking like a nice value at his 10th-round ADP.

Arian Foster, RB, Dolphins

Foster is off to a good start in camp, drawing praise from the coaching staff and media. Note, though, that he and Jay Ajayi split 1st-team reps when the youngster returned from his 3-day absence. We’re still not buying Foster at his recent early-7th-round ADP.

Terrance West, RB, Ravens

West has been the Ravens’ best offensive player in camp so far, at least according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. The Baltimore Sun’s Jeff Zrebiec has also been impressed by West, who dropped weight this offseason. The former Brown is just a late-round flier for now, but he’ll continue to climb our rankings if he maintains this momentum.

Reggie Bush, RB, Bills

The Bills inked Bush to a 1-year deal on Monday. He’s expected to be used primarily as a returner. Bush isn’t worth drafting and might not even be worth using in fantasy lineups if LeSean McCoy misses time.

Chris Givens, WR, Eagles

Givens has been working with the 1st-team offense and might be in line for a starting job. He’d still figure to be no better than 4th in line for targets, though, in an Eagles passing game that won’t exactly produce fantasy fireworks this year.

James Jones, WR, Chargers

San Diego added Jones a couple of days after losing Stevie Johnson to a torn meniscus. Consider Jones the early favorite for #3 WR duties, but he’ll need to hold off Dontrelle Inman, Tyrell Williams and Javontee Herndon. Even if he does, Jones will likely be 5th in line for targets.

Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Patriots

The 4th-round rookie is off to a good start in training camp, getting reps with QB Tom Brady. There are lots of bodies fighting for WR jobs in New England, but Mitchell has the talent to win a Week 1 role.

Cameron Brate, TE, Bucs

Brate is currently ahead of Austin Seferian-Jenkins on the depth chart. The former undrafted free agent out of Harvard hauled in 17 balls over last year’s final 7 games. Put him on your watch list.

Stock Down: These players have moved down the Draft Sharks rankings over the past week.

Matt Forte, RB, Jets

With talk of an “even carry split” in the Jets backfield, we nudged Forte down the rankings a tad. He remains our bet to lead Jets RBs in fantasy points and is a fine pick at his 4th-round ADP.

Jay Ajayi, RB, Dolphins

Ajayi missed 3 days of practice this week with a bruised knee. He’s now locked in a battle for playing time with Arian Foster. Ajayi split 1st-team reps with Foster when he returned on Friday.

Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Titans

We kept DGB relatively high in our WR rankings despite a poor spring, hoping he’d turn it around in training camp. It hasn’t happened yet. Green-Beckham still hasn’t cracked Tennessee’s starting lineup and is starting to look like a poor bet at least for an early-season fantasy impact.

Stevie Johnson, WR, Chargers

Johnson tore his meniscus in practice last weekend and needed surgery. We still don’t have a timetable for his return, but he’ll be out a while. He’s off the redraft radar for now.

Rueben Randle, WR, Eagles

Word from Eagles camp has Randle behind at least Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor and Chris Givens on the depth chart. We’ll see if he can climb, but Randle isn’t worth drafting right now.

Kenny Bell, WR, Bucs

HC Dirk Koetter said this week that Adam Humphries, not Bell, is the team’s #3 WR. Bell appears to be slated for a backup role behind outside WRs Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson. He’ll need an injury to 1 of those guys to sniff fantasy value this year.

Tyler Eifert, TE, Bengals

We learned this week that Eifert’s May ankle surgery was to repair the deltoid ligament. That’s a procedure that usually sidelines players for 5-6 months. That timeline would have Eifert out until at least late October. At this point, fantasy owners can’t draft him as their starting TE.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Bucs

ASJ is behind Cameron Brate on the depth chart, HC Dirk Koetter said on Wednesday. There’s still time for the talented former 2nd-round pick to reclaim the starting job, but he can’t be drafted as more than a late-round flier right now.

Tyler Kroft, TE, Bengals

Kroft sprained his knee in practice on Tuesday. HC Marvin Lewis expects him to be available for the season opener, but we wouldn’t consider that a lock. Kroft isn’t worth drafting.
