Play of the Week and Value Option: Jameis Winston, Bucs ($5,800)
Some QBs would be risky coming off a multi-game suspension. Not Winston. Not in this spot. Not at this price.
Winston has been in OC Todd Monken’s system for 3 years now. His top 5 target-getters from last season are back. And we’ve already seen him play well this year. Winston completed 73.2% of his passes, averaged 9.5 yards per attempt and tossed 3 TDs with 0 INTs this preseason. And he connected on 16 of 20 passes (80%) for 145 yards in 1 half of action vs. the Bears back in Week 4.
Remember, too, that Winston was a fantasy stud when healthy last season. Across his 11 full games, he averaged a big 306.9 passing yards and 1.73 TDs.
Winston couldn’t be making his 2018 starting debut in a much better spot. He’s in a game vs. Atlanta with a whopping 57.5-point over/under. The Bucs are 3.5-point underdogs but still sport a 27-point implied total.
The Falcons have coughed up 3 passing scores in 4 straight games, allowing a 72.6% completion rate and 329.5 yards per game.
