Giants rookie S Tyler Nubin had surgery Monday to repair the ankle he injured in the Week 14 loss to the Saints. He landed on IR ahead of Sunday's loss to the Ravens but should be ready for the start of 2025.
Nubin played all but two defensive snaps before going down against New Orleans. He still ranks second among Giants in total tackles for the season as of this writing but added just 1 pass defensed.
Dane Belton replaced him vs. the Ravens and figures to start next to Jason Pinnock the rest of the way. Belton landed in our Week 16 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups article.
Nubin should be able to reclaim his job once healthy, but we'll have to see what a potential coaching change and any personnel movement might mean.
He enjoyed a solid rookie season but didn't the kind of special performance or production that makes him a lock for long-term lineup safety.
