The Panthers are losing a pair of starting offensive linemen to extended injuries. RG Robert Hunt suffered a torn biceps in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. He'll have surgery and head to IR, according to ESPN's David Newton. That almost certainly will end Hunt's season. C Austin Corbett tore the MCL in his left knee. Newton reports that Corbett will also head to IR but could be designated to return.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo: "Corbett is getting more medical evaluations on his torn MCL. His timeline is TBD but he could be out a long while."
The Panthers have managed just 3.7 yards per carry and 5.4 yards per pass attempt through two games. Losing a pair of O-line starters certainly won't help the efficiency.
Hunt and Corbett each played every snap of Week 2, so Carolina will debut the replacement plan for each guy this Sunday against Atlanta.
RB Chuba Hubbard's yards before contact per attempt sits at 2.6 through two games, according to Pro Football Focus, matching his mark from last year. His rush yards over expected per attempt have dipped, though, from 1.11 in 2024 to minus-0.3 this season.
Both marks seem likely to suffer further with Carolina losing a pair of interior blockers. Consider looking for "sell" opportunities on Hubbard.
