The Commanders have decided to shut down QB Jayden Daniels for the final three games of the season, according to multiple reports. That means Marcus Mariota will start the rest of the way.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: "Daniels was re-evaluated [Monday] & not yet cleared. With him expected to be medically ruled out vs. the Eagles, then facing a short week vs. the Cowboys on Christmas, the final decision was made today."
Mariota posted limited fantasy production in Sunday's win over the Giants, but that was kinda by design.
Despite RB Chris Rodriguez going inactive for the game, Washington dropped back just 26 times vs. 32 designed runs. Mariota went a mere 10-of-19 passing for 211 yards, with 1 TD and 0 INTs.
