Jets RB Isaiah Davis will miss "a couple of weeks" with what the team website calls a "minor" knee injury. That comes amid a competition between Davis and Braelon Allen for touches behind starter Breece Hall. And HC Aaron Glenn had some nice things to say about Allen on Thursday.

Glenn: "He's everything I imagined from a running back of that size. Two-hundred-40 pounds, has good speed. Thing is, he can catch the ball out of the backfield."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Allen Likely in Lead for No. 2 Spot
Glenn has still had to do some imagining because he only got to see Allen log 18 carries and 2 receptions across four appearances last year before a knee injury ended his season. It hasn't sounded like that issue has inhibited the third-year RB at all this summer, though.
Glenn's right about the speed. Allen's 4.51-second 40 time gives him a 95th-percentile speed score at his rare size for the position. We'll see about the pass-catching, though.
Allen tallied a decent 19 catches his rookie year and snagged 28 of them in his final Wisconsin season. That made 49 across his three-year career, but Allen averaged a meager 5.6 yards per catch.
He's not likely to emerge as a standout receiving back in the NFL. But if the offensive coaching staff shares Glenn's belief in Allen's receiving skills, he could hold off Davis in an area that would seem to favor the smaller, even speedier teammate.
Davis missing a couple of weeks in early-to-mid August certainly won't help his chances of earning the No. 2 RB spot early in the season.
Of course, neither guy is likely to offer much fantasy value unless Hall goes down.
