Ashton Jeanty Headshot

Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty's status for the season opener vs. the Dolphins is "still up in the air," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jeanty's ankle sprain is "believed to be more low than high," per Rapoport, but it's not a long-term injury. "There is a chance that Ashton Jeanty may not be on the field for Week 1," Rapoport adds.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: A Risk/Reward Pick For Now

This is the most detail we've gotten since Jeanty went down in Sunday's practice. We still don't have a concrete timetable for his return, but it'd be surprising if a low-ankle sprain cost him more than a month.

We're projecting Jeanty to miss Week 1 as of now, but we'll continue to adjust as we get more information.

Taking Jeanty in upcoming drafts comes down to personal risk tolerance. He could still return Round 1 value if he's ready to go come Week 1. The downside is that he misses a game or two, isn't back to 100% until October, or suffers a setback.
