Chuba Hubbard Headshot

Chuba Hubbard returned to practice after suffering a hamstring injury on August 12, per Mike Kaye of ESPN. Hubbard told reporters on August 24 that he feels good and felt the trainers were simply being cautious with him. Now, he’s officially back on the field.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Full-Workload Hope Returns

Panthers HC Dave Canales previously tagged the team's backfield as a committee between Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks.

But Canales made that statement while Hubbard was on the mend and Brooks was the only one actively practicing. So there's reason for optimism that Hubbard ends up with a full workload.

Hubbard is the only running back on the depth chart with a season of at least 10 PPR points per game (PPG) on his career resume.

He’s two seasons removed from handling over 70% of the Panthers' rush attempts and an 11.2% target share, which he turned into 15.8 PPR points per game (PPG) and a top-15 running back finish.

Proven production in an offense without much proven at the position gives Hubbard a better chance to lead this backfield.

With Hubbard back today, there should be no real limitations by the time Week 1 arrives.
