Chuba Hubbard Headshot

After missing much of August with a hamstring injury, Chuba Hubbard is the healthier of Carolina's top two RBs heading into Week 1. HC Dave Canales said Monday that Hubbard "looks fast, strong, like he was before." RB Jonathon Brooks, meanwhile, has been working off to the side with trainers for close to a week now with what Canales has deemed "soreness."

What They're Saying

Canales on Hubbard: "He's looked great. He looks fast, strong, like he was before. There was a world where, if we're playing a couple weeks ago, he could have helped us in a mode, and we had the time to make sure he was fully back strong, ready to rock."

Canales on Brooks: "We have to just keep taking it one day at a time. He ran out there today, and then we'll evaluate what that looked like. We'll see that and compare it to what he looked like before, and we'll go from there.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

We'll get Carolina's first official practice report of the season on Wednesday, but we're not even sure Brooks is a lock to play Week 1 at this point.

His absence would turn Hubbard into a rock-solid fantasy starter. If Brooks plays, we'd project Hubbard to lead a committee attack.
