Chargers RB Omarion Hampton rushed 15 times for 56 yards (3.7 per carry) in Sunday's loss to the Bills. He added no catches on 1 target. His lack of opportunities there might be a real problem.
Other Backs Get More Receiving Work
Hampton ran just six routes in Sunday's loss, trailing both Keaton Mitchell (14) and Kimani Vidal (13). Even FB Alec Ingold ran nine routes.
All three of those guys also beat Hampton in targets:
- Ingold 4
- Mitchell 3
- Vidal 3
- Hampton 1
Hampton trails Mitchell 33-26 in pass routes through three games, with Vidal not far behind at 21.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Expect Hampton to be an Uncomfortable Play
This is exactly the big issue we pointed out in Hampton's usage in our Week 3 Trade Targets and the ensuing podcast.
And you can't even blame Sunday's usage on the Chargers failing behind. They didn't trail the Bills until 7:35 remained in the fourth quarter.
The first half finished with just 8 Hampton carries to 5 for Mitchell, who also got the 1-yard TD (on a short pass).
The lackluster receiving usage would be bad enough if it meant Hampton left the field when the Chargers fell behind. His situation gets worse if we can't even count on him staying out there when his team's playing from ahead.
Matchups with the Seahawks, Broncos, and Chiefs the next three weeks present threats of negative game scripts.
Sunday's game figures to hurt your chances of selling Hampton, but watch for other opportunities such as the next time he scores.
