Ollie Gordon II Headshot

The Dolphins ran an absurdly low 37 offensive plays in Sunday’s five-point loss to the Vikings, but that didn’t stop RB Ollie Gordon from leading the backfield with 9 carries for 100 yards and 1 score. He added 2 catches for 0 yards.

Gordon drew the start in this one and set the tone with a bruising run of 12 yards on his opening carry. Gordon’s top highlight went for 52 yards, though.

Rushing off left tackle, he dashed into the second level where he swatted away a tackle attempt from S Harrison Smith. He finished the run with power, too, lowering his shoulder for a few extra yards.

Gordon’s TD run was perfectly blocked up, but he still showed the vision and speed to reach the end zone from 12 yards out.

He finished Sunday holding a clear usage edge over Jaylen Wright, who suited up after missing Week 3. Gordon beat Wright in:

  • Snap share (59% to 30%)
  • Carry share (53% to 29%)
  • Target share (12% to 0%)

Given today’s performance, we’ll likely see a similar split against the Bengals in Week 5. Cincy has performed as a neutral matchup for opposing RBs, per our RB strength of schedule page.

Gordon will likely project as a low-end RB2 or flex option.
