The Eagles are elevating RB Dameon Pierce from the practice squad, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Pierce joins Will Shipley as the healthy RBs on the active roster. RB Tank Bigsby is on IR, and RB Saquon Barkley is likely to miss at least Week 5.

Pierce had a nice rookie season for the Texans, running for 939 yards on 4.3 yards per carry. He totaled 745 rushing yards on 3.7 yards per carry over the next three seasons, bouncing from Houston to Kansas City and then Philadelphia.
Pierce is a 218-pounder who profiles as an early-down power back. He makes sense as a complement to Shipley.
We're still expecting Shipley to handle the majority of the backfield work vs. the Jaguars this weekend, but the Pierce elevation is a reminder that Shipley's exact role is a question mark.
Shipley remains the top target on waiver wires this week. Pierce is only worth stashing in deep leagues.
