The Giants will miss MLB Tremaine Edmunds for the rest of the season because of a torn chest muscle, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports. Edmunds had hoped to play through the injury after suffering it late in last Sunday's loss to the Saints. The team plans to start Micah McFadden in his place and have the fifth-year man wear the green dot, which means he'll relay defensive calls in the huddle.
What They're Saying
HC John Harbaugh: "I think I said early on we have three starters. So, when and if that happens, Micah is ready. He's a starter, and he'll play really well. He'll be excited for his opportunity."

McFadden has just six career games with snap shares of 80% or higher. He tallied 11 tackles in four of those, with another three career games of 11+ tackles.
McFadden an also get after the QB and takes over a spot from which Edmunds had already matched his career high of 2 sacks for a season.
McFadden doesn't bring as much upside in coverage but looks plenty capable of delivering useful tackle totals with a smattering of sacks (and other pressure stats, if your league scores those).
He's a nice pickup in any IDP league of at least moderate depth ahead of Sunday's clash with the Texans. McFadden presents top-24 upside the rest of the way.
