Kearse is the "best" fantasy bet, but try to avoid the situation.

Lions WR Marvin Jones (thigh) is inactive for today’s game against the Saints. Andre Roberts is expected to step in as Detroit’s #3 WR but is just a fantasy flier. Golden Tate, Anquan Boldin, Eric Ebron and Theo Riddick all get slight boosts with Jones out.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls WR Marvin Jones (thigh) a "long shot" to play against the Saints today. It's unfortunate news for a guy who needed a plus matchup like this. Jones' absence bumps up the target projections for Golden Tate, Anquan Boldin, Eric Ebron and Theo Riddick. Andre Roberts is expected to step in as Detroit's #3 WR but is a tough sell in fantasy lineups.

Lions HC Jim Caldwell told the Detroit News on Monday that WR Golden Tate's decreased playing time came as part of a pre-game plan to get WR Andre Roberts more snaps. Frankly, that's worse news than if Detroit were just reacting to Tate's misplay that caused a Matthew Stafford INT against the Bears. Lions coaches have to be quite unenthusiastic about Tate if they believe that more playing time or Roberts will help the offense. This is a 28-year-old wideout that caught just 1.9 passes per game over 2 years after signing a free-agent deal with Washington, which dumped him for cap space in May. Tate's fantasy value -- and outlook from this point -- have plummeted after he looked like a relatively safe fantasy pick in the summer. He's droppable in many fantasy football leagues.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden likes what he's seen from rookie WR Jamison Crowder so far.  "Right now, he's showing that he can take what we're teaching him in the classroom and translate it effortlessly to the playing field," Gruden said. "He's got good, strong hands, and obviously, based on what we saw on the college tape, we know going across the middle that he's got no fear.. He's got all the traits we want in a slot receiver, and obviously, he's a heck of a punt returner."  Crowder tallied 269 catches, 3,478 yards and 22 TDs in Duke's pro-style offense over the past 3 seasons.  But he goes 5'8, 185 pounds with 4.5 speed.  As Gruden noted, Crowder projects as a slot receiver in the pros.  He'll battle Andre Roberts for that job this summer.  But Roberts saw just 68 targets in that role last year.  Crowder doesn't have much short- or long-term fantasy upside.

The Redskins added WR Jamison Crowder in the 4th round of the 2015 NFL Draft.  The Duke product topped 1,000 receiving yards in each of his final 3 college seasons and was also a dangerous return man.  But he goes just 5'8, 185 pounds with 4.5 speed.  It's tough to see Crowder emerging as more than a #3, slot receiver at the next level.  In Washington, he'll battle for that job with Andre Roberts and Ryan Grant.

Redskins WR DeSean Jackson (leg) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday.  At this point, we'd bet against him playing against the Rams this weekend -- and he'd be tough to trust in fantasy lineups even if he does.  If D-Jax sits out, Andre Roberts would start alongside Pierre Garcon.  They'd both be low-end WR3s.

Washington WR DeSean Jackson suffered a bruised right fibula in Sunday's loss at Indianapolis, according to The Washington Post. Jackson initially got hurt on a cheap shot by Colts S Mike Adams after a reception at the sideline but returned only to aggravate it. Jackson got carted in for X-rays, finished the game on the sideline and then reportedly limped as he left the stadium. He said after the game that he was in "constant pain." We'll obviously watch his status this week, but the diminutive receiver sounds pretty iffy for Week 14 at this point. His absence would open up opportunities for WR Andre Roberts, though you shouldn't go chasing him on your waiver wire.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden admitted that WR DeSean Jackson's snaps will be limited if he plays against the Eagles on Sunday.  "He won't get 80 plays," Gruden said. "May get 20-30."  That's not enough to make D-Jax a quality fantasy play.  He should be on benches for Week 3.  WRs Andre Roberts and Ryan Grant should pick up extra snaps on Sunday, but look for WR Pierre Garcon and TE Niles Paul to lead the way in targets.

Washington WR DeSean Jackson left in the 1st quarter of the game against the Jaguars after hurting his left shoulder.  The Jacksonville DB reached in to knock away a deep pass and then fell on him, with Jackson's shoulder hitting the ground first.  It was the 2nd time Washington had targeted Jackson deep within the 1st 3 drives.  We'll keep an eye on his status.  Andre Roberts steps up to the #2 WR role with Jackson out.

Update: Jackson has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

The Washington Post reports that Washington has reached a deal with free-agent WR Andre Roberts.  (The contract obviously can't be signed before Tuesday at 4 p.m., when free agency officially opens.)  The 26-year-old wideout makes plenty of sense here.  He can play outside or in the slot and looks like a good bet to start opposite WR Pierre Garcon in 2-WR sets.  Roberts posted a career-best 64-759-5 receiving line in 2012 to rank among fantasy football's top 40 WRs across formats.  Michael Floyd's emergence marginalized Roberts in 2013, but he could match or exceed those 2012 numbers with QB Robert Griffin this fall.

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday.  HC Bruce Arians labeled him "day-to-day," but Floyd shouldn't be considered a lock to play against the Jaguars this weekend.  WR Andre Roberts would draw the start if Floyd can't go.

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd sprained his shoulder in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Texans and did not return.  HC Bruce Arians said afterward that he expects Floyd to be ready for Week 11, but we should learn more later today.  WR Andre Roberts would move into the starting lineup if Floyd is sidelined.  He posted a 5-72-1 line this past weekend and could be an intriguing WR3 spot start against the Jaguars next week.

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Lions.  Fitz tweaked the hamstring in Wednesday’s practice.  Hammies can be tricky, but all indications are that Fitz will be just fine.  He put in limited practices all week and said he was "fine" on Thursday.  Insider Darren Urban said Fitz "looked a little better" on Friday but considers him a game-time decision.  The Cardinals-Lions game doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET, but we'd feel confident getting Fitz into fantasy lineups.  Grabbing Andre Roberts as a "handcuff" wouldn't be a bad idea.
