Eagles DE Brandon Graham will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his left Achilles' tendon. That leaves Josh Sweat, Derek Barnett and Ryan Kerrigan as Philadelphia's top 3 DEs.

According to multiple reports, the Eagles fear that DE Brandon Graham tore his left Achilles' tendon in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. We'll see about the official diagnosis, but such "fears" tend to be realized.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham left in the 2nd quarter of Sunday’s game against the 49ers with a left leg injury. He left the field unable to put any weight on it and rode a cart to the locker room. We’ll watch for updates.

Eagles DEs Brandon Graham (concussion) and Derek Barnett (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Rams. It'll be Barnett's 2020 debut after he missed the opener. Graham profiles better for IDP usage. Both help the upside of the Philly team defense.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham (concussion) and DE Derek Barnett (hamstring) are officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. Barnett put in full practices all week and should be ready to go after missing Week 1. Graham seems to still need final clearance through the league concussion protocol, but he appears to be on track after practicing in full on Friday. We'll update the status of both players Sunday morning.

Eagles DE Derek Barnett returned to a full practice Wednesday. Barnett missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury that also cost him a large chunk of training camp. But it sounds like he'll be ready to face the Rams on Sunday. That will be particularly helpful, as DE Brandon Graham is in the concussion protocol and DE Vinny Curry landed on IR this week with what HC Doug Pederson called a "significant" hamstring injury. Philly also got DT Javon Hargrave back for a limited workout Wednesday. The free-agent addition missed all of camp with a pectoral injury. The Eagles are likely to ease him back in.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham is in the concussion protocol after leaving Sunday's loss to Washington with the injury. We'll see about his status for this week. You should proceed as though Graham will not be available for your Week 2 IDP lineups.

The Eagles have reached agreement on a 3-year extension with DE Brandon Graham, according to multiple reports. The deal keeps Graham from hitting unrestricted free agency later this month. It also keeps in town a player who split his time between the right and left edges of the D-line in 2018 after serving as the primary left DE in 2017. With 3rd-year DE Derek Barnett returning from injury, Graham figures to return to primarily playing the left side in 2019. He has been a productive IDP over the past 4 years but has lacked the big sack numbers to deliver consistent starter value for fantasy owners. Graham tallied 9.5 sacks in 2017 but has no other seasons of more than 6.5.

The Eagles on Monday activated DE Brandon Graham from the PUP. He has been sidelined following the 2017 ankle injury that required offseason surgery. Graham played through the injury in the playoffs, including the Super Bowl. We'll see how ready he is by Week 1.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham "recently" had surgery on his right ankle, according to ESPN's Tim McManus. Doctors operated to promote faster healing on a high ankle sprain Graham suffered in Week 16. He played through the injury in the playoffs but has obviously struggled with it this offseason. Graham's seems likely to miss spring workouts. We'll see if the issue lingers beyond that.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham left in the 4th quarter of Monday night's win over the Raiders with a right ankle injury. We have yet to see any further details on the issue, which originally left him "questionable" to return. After locking up the NFC's #1 seed, though, Philly will have no reason to play Graham in Week 17. That's good news for a struggling Cowboys offense. Expect more playing time for DEs Chris Long and Vinny Curry in the regular-season finale.

The Eagles watched LB Jordan Hicks (quad) and DE Brandon Graham (elbow) leave practice Monday and sit out Tuesday's workout this week. It seems likely that neither defensive starter will play in Thursday night's 3rd preseason game. But HC Doug Pederson called both "day to day" after Tuesday's practice, according to The Intelligencer. That indicates we shouldn't yet worry about either's status for the regular-season opener -- still a little more than 2 weeks away. We'll certainly watch for their healthy returns in the meantime and update for IDP owners.

The Eagles -- somewhat surprisingly -- re-signed OLB Brandon Graham on Monday with a 4-year deal worth a reported $26 million. As long as Graham stays healthy and effective, we'd expect the 27-year-old to play out that contract. Philly clearly needed Graham's edge-rushing talent after releasing OLB Trent Cole. The re-signing also signals that they don't believe 2014 first-round OLB Marcus Smith is near ready for a prominent role. As a starter, Graham should turn into a solid option for fantasy football owners playing in sack-friendly IDP leagues.

Eagles HC Chip Kelly told reporters today that OLB Trent Cole will have surgery on his broken hand this week and miss Saturday's game at Washington. That pushes Brandon Graham into the starting lineup, which shouldn't present a drop-off for the pass rush against a Washington offense that has allowed a lot of sacks in recent weeks. Philly stands as 1 of the top defensive plays in fantasy football this week because of sack and turnover potential. Graham carries plenty of upside in sack-heavy IDP leagues.

After taking their sweet time to look around, the Eagles have chosen Billy Davis to coordinate their defense. In breaking that news, CSN Philly's Geoff Mosher also states unequivocally that the team will run a 3-4 base. The Davis hire seems curious. Despite coaching in the league since 1992, Davis has proved an abject failure in 2 previous stints as coordinator. Under HC Mike Nolan, his Niners unit finished 30th in points allowed and 32nd in yards in 2005, then 32nd and 26th the following year. He was fired in favor of Greg Manusky after that, and the rankings improved. As Cardinals DC in 2009 and 2010, Davis watched his D go from 14th in points and 20th in yards the 1st season to 30th and 29th in his 2nd year. Then he was booted in favor of 1st-time DC Ray Horton. Guess the optimistic view is that Davis can only get better. A switch from 4-3 to 3-4, however, figures to hurt the fantasy outlooks of DEs Trent Cole and Brandon Graham. In typical tackle-heavy IDP leagues, each will be hard pressed to make an impact at LB. On the bright side, perhaps Mychal Kendricks can shift inside and boost his numbers in year 2.

When the Eagles released DE Jason Babin this week, it further cleared the way for Brandon Graham to play as many snaps as his performance commands. Our initial reaction was to play wait-and-see on a guy with just 1.5 sacks for the season. Closer analysis over the past few days, however, reveals a potential IDP sleeper for the stretch run. Despite playing just 211 snaps to date, Graham is rated the 4th-best 4-3 DE overall by Pro Football Focus. That includes a #7 rating in pass rushing. According to PFF, the young Eagle has collected at least 2 total QB disruptions in every game since Week 5. The Babin release clearly gives Graham a 5-week tryout. Graham still has 2 fairly cheap years left on his rookie contract. The next coaching regime would likely be glad to keep him around if he can prove his worth as a starter over these next 5 weeks. On a personal level, Graham has also said that he's driven to prove he's not a 1st-round bust. Being drafted ahead of Jason Pierre-Paul only adds fuel there. Graham opens this opportunity with a pair of positive matchups. DS subscribers can head over to the weekly DL rankings to see just how high we are on his chances to produce.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham is active for tonight's game against the Bears. The last time that was true was Week 14 of 2010. A 1st-round pick, Graham showed pass-rushing promise as a rookie before a serious knee injury ended his season early. He's active ahead of Juqua Parker (ankle) and Philip Hunt, which figures to make him part of the DE rotation. Graham isn't likely to present IDP value the rest of the way but is an interesting option in deeper dynasty formats.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham returned to practice Monday for the 1st time since tearing his right ACL in December. Graham required an ACL repair and microfracture surgery after the injury and opened this year on the PUP. The Eagles now have 3 weeks to decide whether to activate him or put him on IR. The team is expected to activate Graham, though it's unclear how much playing time he might find. Philly already has Trent Cole, Jason Babin, Darryl Tapp and Juqua Parker at the position. DE Philip Hunt seems a likely candidate for release if the team activates Graham. The 2010 1st-round pick showed pass-rush promise last year before his injury. At full health, Graham's speed off the ball fits well with DL coach Jim Washburn's preferred wide-9 style.
