The Eagles have ruled DE Derek Barnett and DT Fletcher Cox out for Sunday night's season finale against Washington. With DE Josh Sweat on IR, that leaves Vinny Curry to start opposite Brandon Graham for the 2nd straight game. He carries intriguing upside against Washington. With Cox missing, Javon Hargrave and Malik Jackson figure to be the top 2 at DT again.
The Eagles have ruled DE Derek Barnett out for today's game against the Cowboys after he suffered a calf injury in Friday's practice. With DE Josh Sweat also out, Vinny Curry looks like the starter opposite Brandon Graham for an upside sack matchup.
Eagles DEs Brandon Graham (concussion) and Derek Barnett (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Rams. It'll be Barnett's 2020 debut after he missed the opener. Graham profiles better for IDP usage. Both help the upside of the Philly team defense.
Eagles DE Brandon Graham (concussion) and DE Derek Barnett (hamstring) are officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. Barnett put in full practices all week and should be ready to go after missing Week 1. Graham seems to still need final clearance through the league concussion protocol, but he appears to be on track after practicing in full on Friday. We'll update the status of both players Sunday morning.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett returned to a full practice Wednesday. Barnett missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury that also cost him a large chunk of training camp. But it sounds like he'll be ready to face the Rams on Sunday. That will be particularly helpful, as DE Brandon Graham is in the concussion protocol and DE Vinny Curry landed on IR this week with what HC Doug Pederson called a "significant" hamstring injury. Philly also got DT Javon Hargrave back for a limited workout Wednesday. The free-agent addition missed all of camp with a pectoral injury. The Eagles are likely to ease him back in.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett and DT Javon Hargrave are out indefinitely with injuries, according to Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia. The team lists Hargrave -- a big-money free-agent addition -- as out for "multiple weeks" with an unspecified upper-body injury. Barnett is listed as "week to week" with a lower-body injury. Barnett has lost 12 games to injuries over the past 2 years, since joining the starting lineup. Philly sports solid depth at his position. Hargrave could be a tougher blow if he's out into the regular season. The Eagles let DT Timmy Jernigan walk on the open market after signing Hargrave. Jernigan reached a deal over the weekend with Jacksonville, after the Jags lost DL Rodney Gunter to retirement. Neither Barnett nor Hargrave will be worth a look in most IDP leagues before returning to the field.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) is active for today's game against the Cowboys. He entered questionable after just 1 limited practice during the week. Throw in Dallas' negative sack matchup, and Barnett doesn't make for a strong IDP play.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He missed the past 2 games with the injury and managed just 1 limited practice this week. Combine that with a negative sack matchup vs. Dallas, and Barnett doesn't belong in your IDP lineup even if active.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) is out for the 2nd straight game. CB Ronald Darby (hip flexor) is active after entering the game questionable. He's still a low-level IDP because of Washington's low pass-volume. QB Dwayne Haskins presents turnover upside, though.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) and CB Ronald Darby (hip flexor) are questionable for Sunday's game at Washington. Barnett missed practice all week after sitting out Monday night's win over the Giants. He seems like a poor bet even if he turns up active for the game. Darby sustained his injury in Friday's practice. We'll see about his status Sunday morning.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game against the Giants. If you had been waiting for him for your IDP lineup, then Josh Sweat is likely the highest-upside replacement available. Giants EDGE Markus Golden works as well, where he carries a DE designation.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett (ankle) is questionable for tonight's game against the Giants. He missed practice all week, and HC Doug Pederson said Barnett will likely be a game-time decision. If Barnett doesn't play, then Josh Sweat should see more playing time. He posted a half-sack in each of the past 2 games and 2 sacks over his past 4. Sweat has 3 sacks and 7 QB hits on the year in limited duty. He's available as a late fill-in if you've been planning to start Barnett in your IDP lineup.
Eagles DE Derek Barnett is having season-ending shoulder surgery, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Barnett sat out Week 5 with the injury but then returned for the past 2 games. Clearly, though, it was determined he should have the issue repaired. The Barnett loss obviously hurts, but Philly runs deeper than most teams on the D-line and should be fine from a fantasy standpoint. Michael Bennett could be in line for more snaps at Barnett's right DE spot, and we could see more of rookie Josh Sweat as well.
The Eagles have ruled DE Derek Barnett (shoulder) out for Sunday's game against the Vikings. That leaves Philly without 1 of its top-performing pass rushers, but the defense deploys a consistent rotation. We're not big on either defense in the Eagles-Vikings matchup anyway.
The Eagles spent their 1st-round pick on Tennessee DE Derek Barnett. He joins a defense that dumped DE Connor Barwin in the offseason, but Philly still sports Brandon Graham and Vinny Curry at the position, and added Chris Long this offseason. Barnett still has a shot to start right away and should at least quickly earn a role in the rotation. He'll make for a solid dynasty IDP selection, with 2017 upside in redraft.
