        Uchenna Nwosu Returns (Again)

The Seahawks have activated Edge Uchenna Nwosu from IR. He missed the past seven games with a thigh injury. That happened in the first game after he returned from a season-opening knee injury. He's expected to play this Sunday against the Cardinals, according to the team website.

Julian Love a Game-Time Decision Amid Beat-Up Defense

The Seahawks have ruled CB Riq Woolen (ankle) and DT Byron Murphy (hamstring) out for Thursday night's game against the 49ers. Edge Uchenna Nwosu (thigh) is also out and expected to land on IR ahead of the game. Additionally, Seattle lists Edge Derick Hall (foot), Edge Boye Mafe (knee), and S Julian Love (hamstring) as questionable vs. San Francisco. Love played through the same issue in Week 5, missing just one of 71 snaps. But HC Mike Macdonald calls him a game-time decision on the short week. Macdonald said Wednesday he's "confident" Hall and Mafe will play. Each practiced in full Wednesday.

        Uchenna Nwosu done for season

Seahawks Edge Uchenna Nwosu needs season-ending surgery after tearing a pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Cardinals, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That will leave Seattle without its lead edge player. Boye Mafe and Darrell Taylor finished Sunday's game as the top two. Mafe played a season-high 79% of the snaps and notched a sack for the fourth straight game. Taylor tallied his first 1.5 sacks of the season against the Cardinals. His 59% snap share marked an uptick vs. the week before but not a season high in either share or total snaps. Mafe -- a second-round pick in 2022 -- is the much better IDP bet between them the rest of the way. We'll see what else changes up front for the Seahawks. Nwosu remains signed through 2026, with dead-cap penalties that should keep him with the team at least through 2025.

        Uchenna Nwosu gets extension

Seahawks Edge Uchenna Nwosu has agreed to a three-year extension that will pay him $45 million, with incentives that could push it up to $59 million, according to multiple reports. In his fifth season -- and first with Seattle -- Nwosu set career highs in solo tackles, assists, sacks, tackles for loss, QB hits, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. It was just his second season as a starter. Seattle clearly believes Nwosu has more. See where he stands in our IDP rankings.
