Matt Nagy Clouds the Giants’ Breakout Chances

Matt Nagy Clouds the Giants’ Breakout Chances

The Giants are hiring Matt Nagy as their OC, according to multiple reports. Todd Monken was reportedly HC John Harbaugh's top choice for the job. But, like Harbaugh, Nagy has strong ties to Andy Reid. Nagy started his coaching career under Reid in Philadelphia and spent the past four seasons with Reid in Kansas City, serving as OC for the last three.

The Giants are finalizing a deal to hire John Harbaugh as their new HC. It's a five-year deal that will make Harbaugh one of the league's highest-paid coaches, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Harbaugh is coming off an 18-year run with the Ravens, winning 61.4% of his regular season games and Super Bowl 47. It's a strong hire for New York. But Harbaugh worked his way up through the ranks as a special teams coach. That makes the rest of his offensive staff key to figuring out what this Giants attack will look like going forward. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that former Ravens OC Todd Monken is expected to join Harbaugh in New York, although it's unclear if he'll hold the same title. We'll keep you updated on how this Giants staff comes together -- and what it means for QB Jaxson Dart, WR Malik Nabers, and the rest of the offense.

Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson (rib) and TE Theo Johnson (illness) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That leaves New York without its top two targets. Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins will lead the WR room, with Daniel Bellinger handling lead TE duties. The matchup against Dallas makes those guys more intriguing fantasy options. QB Jaxson Dart's Week 18 outlook takes a hit sans Robinson and Johnson.

The Giants have ruled TE Theo Johnson out for tomorrow's game against the Raiders because of an illness.

The forecast for today's Packers-Giants game calls for sustained winds of 20 mph with gusts between 30-40 mph. That's enough to likely impact play-calling, as well as deep throws and longer kicks. We're downgrading both passing games in this one and would avoid both kickers. The over/under in this game has dipped from 43.5 on Thursday to 42.5.

        1. 1 Isaiah Likely NYG TE
        2. 2 Theo Johnson NYG TE
