NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Jets players expect QB Bryce Petty to draw the start against the Rams today. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was limited in practice this week with his knee injury, but it sounds like he's healthy enough to play. So this looks like a changing of the guard in New York. Fitzpatrick hasn't been good this season, but it's tough to imagine Petty being an upgrade in the short term. We moved Brandon Marshall down the Week 10 WR Rankings.
Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Petty will start.
Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The injury is "not considered serious, but could impact Jets QB decision," Schefter adds. It sounds like they're considering handing the reins to QB Bryce Petty. We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation, but neither Jets QB should be in your Week 10 fantasy plans.
Jets QB Geno Smith is believed to have suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's game against the Ravens, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He'll undergo additional testing to confirm the injury that would end his season. Incredibly jinxed, Smith is due to hit the free-agent market this offseason. The Jets, meanwhile, will go back to Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. He gets a plus Week 8 matchup against Cleveland's 30th-ranked QB defense, putting him on the spot-start radar for bold fantasy owners.
Jets HC Todd Bowles announced Wednesday that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (thumb) will start this weekend's game against the Jaguars. His Wednesday workout obviously went well. Fitzpatrick's injury is to his non-throwing hand, so it shouldn't impact his fantasy production. Consider him a high-end QB2 and potential QB1 streamer vs. Jacksonville's 23rd-ranked QB defense.
Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hand injury in the 1st
quarter of today’s game against Oakland. Fitz picked up the injury on a scramble. Geno Smith has entered in relief, while the veteran is officially
questionable to return.
Update: Fitzpatrick is dealing with a sprained left (non-throwing) thumb, according to insider Doug Moore.
Texans QB Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a lower left leg injury in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Colts. He was carted off the field, so his day is almost certainly over. QB Tom Savage is in the game for Houston.
Bills WR David Nelson recently revealed that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick played through cracked ribs during the 2nd half of the 2011 season. Fitz suffered the injury against the Redskins in Week 8. He didn't miss any time but threw 16 INTs compared to just 10 TDs from Week 9 on. Fitzpatrick averaged 18 fantasy points before the injury and just 15 after. Still, it's tough to lay all the blame for his poor 2nd half on the injury considering he faded down the stretch in 2010 too.
