Stock Up/Stock Down Report (7-21 through 7-27)

By Jared Smola 9:07am EDT 7/28/18

Stock Up: These players have moved up the Draft Sharks rankings over the past week.

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

Luck avoided the PUP list to open training camp, is a “full go” in practice and is even on track to play in Indy’s preseason opener. This is as optimistic as we’ve been about Luck in a while. He’s well worth a shot at his current 11th-round ADP. We’ll see how high that climbs if the news around him stays positive.

Lamar Miller, RB, Texans

RB D’Onta Foreman (Achilles) opened camp on the PUP list. He seems unlikely to make an early-season impact and might even land on the reserve/PUP, costing him at least the first 6 games. It has Miller looking locked in as Houston’s feature back out of the gate. He averaged 15.4 PPR points in QB Deshaun Watson’s 6 starts last year — a mark that would have ranked 12th over the course of the season.

Marlon Mack, RB, Colts

He was cleared for the start of training camp after missing spring workouts recovering from shoulder surgery. Mack is still the favorite for lead-back duties this season but will be pushed by rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins.

Jordan Matthews, WR, Patriots

Matthews looks like the favorite to assume most of WR Julian Edelman’s snaps during his 4-game suspension. That could make the former Eagle an early-season fantasy starter.

Taylor Gabriel, WR, Bears

Gabriel has impressed with his speed early in training camp. He’s been lining up all over the formation, including in the backfield. New HC Matt Nagy might see some Tyreek Hill (who he coached in Kansas City) in Gabriel. He’s worth a look near the end of best-ball drafts.

Danny Amendola, WR, Dolphins

It’s been Amendola, not Albert Wilson, taking most of the 1st-team slot snaps early in Dolphins camp. If he hangs on to that gig, Amendola could be a spot-start option in PPR leagues.

Geronimo Allison, WR, Packers

ESPN's Rob Demovsky considers Allison the "best bet" to win the Packers' #3 WR job. He’ll need to hold off rookies J'Mon Moore, Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but Allison holds edges in NFL experience and chemistry with QB Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay’s #3 WR could present some spot-start value and would be a weekly fantasy starter if Davante Adams or Randall Cobb miss time.

Corey Coleman and Antonio Callaway, WRs, Browns

The battle for Cleveland’s #3 WR job gets more and more interesting the longer Josh Gordon is away from the team. Coleman is the favorite for now but is already being pushed by Callaway, the 4th-round rookie who’s been impressive early in camp.

Deon Cain, WR, Colts

Cain had a strong spring and has carried that momentum into training camp. He’s right in the mix for the Colts’ wide-open #2 WR job, alongside veterans Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers.

Jake Butt, TE, Broncos

He’s the Broncos’ “likely starter,” according to the Denver Post's Kyle Fredrickson. Butt went in the 5th round of last year’s draft but would have gone significantly earlier if not for a torn ACL late in his final season at Ohio State. He’s worth a look at the end of best-ball drafts, especially in TE-premium leagues like the FFPC.

Stock Down: These players have moved down the Draft Sharks rankings over the past week.

Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens

Flacco remains safely entrenched as Baltimore’s starter. But HC John Harbaugh said this week that Lamar Jackson will take snaps at QB this season. Any reps that Flacco loses to the rookie will dent the veteran's already minimal fantasy value.

D’Onta Foreman, RB, Texans

He opened camp on the PUP list and is iffy for the start of the season, GM Brian Gaine said this week. That makes Foreman nothing more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts — although there’s still a chance he earns a significant role later in the year.

Josh Gordon, WR, Browns

We don’t have a ton of details about why Gordon didn’t report for the start of training camp. He said it’s "part of [his] overall health and treatment plan.” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Gordon is dealing with "mental health and anxiety" issues. It doesn’t sound like he’s facing another suspension, but there’s no timetable for his return. There’s still exciting upside here, but Gordon also comes with a scary-low floor.

Albert Wilson, WR, Dolphins

He’s been running mostly with the backups early in training camp. If Wilson can’t beat out Danny Amendola for the starting slot receiver job, he’ll be a non-factor in fantasy football.

Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Patriots

Mitchell had another procedure — reportedly "aimed at hoping to accelerate healing" — on his troublesome knee early this week. His 2018 campaign "looks to be in jeopardy," according to the Providence Journal's Mark Daniels. Mitchell isn’t worth a roster spot in redraft leagues.

Tyler Eifert, TE, Bengals

Eifert opened camp on the PUP list after reportedly “tweaking” his back this spring. He’s had 2 surgeries on that back, with the most recent coming in October. His status for the start of the season is completely uncertain, although Eifert did say he expects to be out there. There’s still TE1 upside here, but Eifert’s injury history makes him just a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.
