Woody Marks Headshot

Woody Marks rushed a career-high 19 times for 64 yards and caught his only target for 3 yards in Houston's 20-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Marks briefly exited the game with a foot injury but returned to play 41 of the Texans' 76 snaps (54%).

QB C.J. Stroud returned to action after a three-game absence due to a concussion. However, Marks' usage remained stable.

Marks has played 40-plus snaps and logged 14-plus carries in his last four games--all wins by the Texans.

In Week 13, Marks ran 17 routes but was only targeted once. This is the third consecutive game that Marks has only earned a single target as the Texans have become more WR-focused.

Behind Marks, Nick Chubb rushed 9 times for 34 yards, including a 4-yard TD in the second quarter to put the Texans up 10-6.

Chubb has been firmly behind Chubb in playing time since Week 9 and is even less involved as a pass-catcher.

In Houston's first 11 games, Marks had out-carried Chubb inside the opponent's 10-yard line 12-5, so Chubb's 4-yard TD was a bit of a surprise. Short-yardage has been a problem for the Texans, and Chubb's TD was his first inside the opponent's 5-yard line.

Houston's backfield has stabilized over the past month, with Marks clearly ahead. We're not reading too much into the Chubb TD this week.

Marks remains a weekly RB3, while Chubb is barely on the deep-league flex radar.

We'll see how many touches Marks gets next week as the Texans have a critical matchup against a Kansas City Chiefs squad also playing for its playoff lives.
