The Raiders announced Tuesday that the Ravens have canceled the Maxx Crosby trade. ESPN reports that Baltimore rescinded its offer because of "medical concerns that arose during a physical."
What They're Saying
An NFL GM, via NFL Network's Jane Slater: "He was never gonna 'pass' a physical ... based on where he is in recovery. Something else had to lead to the decision. Do they think he is too far behind in rehab? Don't like the images of recovery? ... or something else potentially."
NFL insider Jordan Schultz: "People close to Maxx Crosby are adamant he's ahead of schedule and doubting him will only make him stronger."
ESPN's Adam Schefter: "Raiders already have received calls from 'several' teams in quiring about the availability of Maxx Crosby in a trade, per source. For now, the Raiders are prepared to get Crosby healthy and have him play for Las Vegas. But they are listening to other teams."
2026 Impact
There's not much precedence for a change like this, especially with such a high-level trade.
We'll see where this goes ... both in terms of where Crosby will spend 2026 and what the truth is on his recovery.
Dallas was reportedly in on trade talks before the Baltimore deal but pivoted to trading for Green Bay Edge Rashan Gary after the deal got announced.
The Ravens go back to needing edge help, especially after watching Dre'Mont Jones -- whom Baltimore traded for during the season -- leave for New England in free agency.
