The money backs up the GM’s words that Achane’s central to the plan going forward. What we don’t know is how the new OC and QB Malik Willis will affect Achane’s receiving volume.

Running QBs traditionally hurt target volume for RBs because they scramble more often when pressured and check down less. Any dip in receiving volume would hurt Achane’s outlook, after he tied for fifth-most targets among RBs last year and ranked second at the position in 2024.

Achane has also increased his carries per game in each of the past two years and could make up for any target dip with more designed touches in a Miami offense suddenly short on options.

The team’s rebuilding phase ultimately adds some downside, but Achane’s combo of talent (including 5.6 yards per carry for his career so far) central role keeps him in the middle of RB1 range for 2026 drafts.

Dynasty Impact

There’s no real dynasty impact here because Miami’s new leadership had already conveyed that Achane wasn’t going anywhere. Staying with the Dolphins doesn’t help his fantasy outlook, but it’s dangerous to downgrade him beyond this season.

Miami could add talent to the offense next offseason and quickly alter the situation around the RB.
