Jets HC Aaron Glenn told reporters Thursday that rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq had a “minor procedure” to address a hernia. Glenn said they expect the first-round pick to be ready for training camp.
What They're Saying
More from Glenn: “Something that he dealt with, and we knew about, going into his last year of college. And he dealt with it during rookie minicamp. We wanted to make sure we got it done right after rookie minicamp so he’ll be ready to go during training camp.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
There doesn’t seem to be any reason to worry about this situation. Sadiq apparently played through it as he enjoyed a breakout final season at Oregon and took part in early Jets workouts.
We’ll obviously watch to make sure he’s actually ready at the start of training camp, and perhaps the rookie will start a little slowly after missing some off-the-field training time while recovering from this procedure.
But the timing appears carefully planned, and Sadiq should have plenty of on-field time to ramp up for the regular season.
We’re not altering our projections at this point for the rookie, who sits in the middle of TE2 territory across formats in our fantasy football rankings.
