Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue generated plenty of buzz from coaches and beat writers this spring. He's kept that momentum rolling into camp, making big plays in the run and pass games while mixing in with the first-team offense.
What They're Saying
Insider Clarence Hill: "Jaydon Blue continues to burn up the practice field with big runs. He had two would-be touchdowns on long runs on Thursday. He also got a lot of work with the first team, alternating with Javonte Williams."
HC Brian Schottenheimer: “I think what we feel like we have in Jaydon when you’re playing defenses that are trying to change the math and cheat to really elite receivers, which we have, there’s usually a favorable matchup in that regard.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Top Late-Round RB Target
Maturity issues kept Blue off the field last season, but he's cleaned those up and has flashed his big-play ability throughout the offseason. Blue averaged 5.4 yards per carry and 9.0 yards per catch in college and clocked a 4.38-second 40 time at the Combine.
He brings a different look to Dallas' backfield vs. the more power-based Javonte Williams.
Blue's passing-game upside stands out after his 42-catch final college season. Williams led Cowboys backs with 35 catches last year but was woefully inefficient, averaging just 3.9 yards per catch and ranking dead last among 40 qualifying RBs in yards per route.
Blue could carve out a passing-down role right away, giving him some deep-league PPR appeal. And a Williams injury could turn Blue into a locked-in fantasy starter.
That upside has turned Blue one of our favorite late-round RB targets.
