The offseason arrival of OC Pete Carmichael sparked plenty of speculation that we'd see more receiving work for Buffalo RBs in 2026. Training camp has supported that notion so far.
What They're Saying: More Passes Finding RBs
ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg: "The running backs room has been noticeably more involved as pass catchers in practices, which is something to keep an eye on if that production increases this season."
Alec White of the team site: "Josh Allen has given his running backs plenty of looks out of the backfield during camp, with routes varying from option to screen to wheel, among others. Carmichael emphasized the importance of looking back at film from previous seasons to see how the Bills can improve on getting their running backs involved in the passing game."
Carmichael: "That's always a part of the game that you like to be able to be productive in."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Cook's Floor Rises
Cook finished each of the past two seasons among the top 8 PPR scorers at his position, but he ranked just 33rd among RBs in target share last season and 39th the year before.
Clearly that didn't stop him from scoring plenty of fantasy points, but it did make his scoring profile more fragile -- especially in games where Buffalo falls behind.
More receptions means a higher floor and better involvement across game scripts. That only makes Cook easier to like at his late-Round 1 ADP.
