Falcons Edge Jalon Walker tore his left ACL in practice Tuesday and will miss the entire season. That's a big blow to a defense that already had questions about its pass-rushing group.

Josh Kendall of The Athletic: "Atlanta will now have to count on free-agent additions Samson Ebukam, Azeez Ojulari, Cameron Thomas and Keshawn Banks and incumbent Bralen Trice (who has missed the last two seasons due to ACL tears) for its pass rush unless it can find answers on the free-agent market. Haason Reddick, Joey Bosa, Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos are among the players still available."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Defense Probably Won't be Good
Don't feel bad if you don't know much about that group of players. They've totaled 63.5 career sacks over 26 combined player seasons, with Ebukam accounting for more than half (35). He heads into his age-31 campaign with just one year of more than 5 sacks.
Ojulari delivered 8 sacks as a 2021 rookie with the Giants. he has totaled just 14 more since.
The Falcons also have 2025 first-rounder James Pearce Jr., but he might still face league discipline over his arrest on domestic-violence charges.
Expect Atlanta to add to this group, either from the open market or via trade.
Also expect this to be a defense worth targeting in fantasy matchups rather than one to fear.
Dynasty Impact: Walker Even Shakier Than Before
ACL tears aren't as impactful beyond the missed season as they once were, but this is still a significant blow to a player I already had questions about for fantasy purposes.
Walker's a gifted athlete but a bit of a positional 'tweener. He plays the edge but splits time between coverage and pass rushing. That's probably good for his NFL team but not great for his stat outlook. And any limitation on his explosiveness once he returns could kill the upside he does present.
If you already have Walker in dynasty, he's fine to keep stashed -- assuming you can do so without further cost to your roster.
I would not treat this as a buying opportunity on the young defender, though.
